I've been very busy at work, but it
should slow down a bit in the next couple weeks and I won't be so burnt out that I don't feel like working on RomRaider. I had a three day weekend last weekend, but Sunday was autox and Monday I didn't get any work done. I did get the includes to the point that they're almost finished, so whenever I get a few hours to play around again I'm hoping I should be able to finish up.
When includes are finished, I'm going to release another alpha version, followed by another that adds the rest of the basic functionality but nothing too complex. When this functionality is all stable enough, I'd like to call it an official, non-test release.
After a stable release, I'm going to do some serious research on other ECUs, at the moment mainly Hondas. Their K series ECUs have 4D tables for fuel and timing (RPM vs MAP vs cam angle), and I'd like to add support for that. Currently, the only way to tune the K series is with Hondata, so I'm hoping if I can get this added, they'll take notice and we'll have a
lot more knowledge and experience helping with development.
Here's a short list of what I have planed before an official release:
- Support 192/160kb images
- Popup menus
- Organize table list by type
- Graphical icons
- Text input for values (Requires traversing expression attribute)
- Image properties
- Table properties
- Value fine adjustment
- Settings panel
- Support for multiple definition files
- Definition chooser (if no match or multiple matches are found) (should also help with Honda ECUs, which seem to have no reliable method of identifying revision within the ROM -- see
http://forum.pgmfi.org/viewtopic.php?p=61476#61476 )
- Optionally open new tables
in place of currently opened table (
more)
Edit: Adding Honda support is dependent on a method to dump and reflash ROMs actually cropping up. Currently, as far as I've seen, there isn't one (free).
