make sure the correct com port is selected (try each one) make sure the ignition is on or engine is running make sure you have the correct drivers installed for your cable (tactrix cable is recommended) macs may have issues with logging

Thanks for your speedy response, i did try all ports but with no success, i think it could be the cable i'm trying to use, its an obd2 cable with interface. What do reccomend for EDM sti 03 that has a prodrive performance pack fitted? and where to get it from? ( i am in UK ) thanks again,

you'll need the reflash connector to order to flash, although I don't know which one you would use for edm. The two separate connectors are separated by model year range, but that may be for usdm. That is, you may need the 01-02 connector for the 03 edm sti - not sure.

Did you ever get the logger to work?
I think the prodrive performance pack includes the Ecutek reflash right? A couple of years ago, Ecutek changed their reflashes to effectively lock out the ECU from reading/flashing with anything except their software. So, you are unlikely to be able to do anything but log, unless the ecutek reflash is over 2 years old - then maybe.

I got the cable and went straight for a read of the ecu. lol, The prodrive kit was fitted from new so is now approaching 5 years old. What are my options if this ecu is locked? I will try the logger and let you know how i get on! Hope there are some options

try to get the logger working first - that will rule out a driver issue. Check out the romraider faq for troubleshooting steps for ecuflash as well as logging.

Ok, i have just hooked up the laptop to the car and run the datalogger. This appears to working perfectly. Looks like you could be right,, locked!

I don't know - supposedly Ecutek started it in 2006, so you shouldn't have a problem with a 5 year old flash unless you got a retune or something later. I would make sure it is not some other issue. Go through the romraider faq ecuflash troubleshooting - make sure you are in test mode, make sure you are starting the read immediately after turning the ignition on, etc.
