The read cmd looks perfect, reporting byte content "00", therefore setting bit 6 means writing 0x40. OK, just to be sure to get the bit change correct to my readout byte: Readout: 80F0100 2E8006A has to change to Write: 80F0100 1E8006A And after that, again change to wirte: 80F0100 2E8006A again ?

Haven't tried RomRaider test app but IMHO everything should look like "communication example" from https://subdiesel.wordpress.com/2015/06/30/oil-dilution-reset-k-line-euro4/except that RomRaider does not print spaces between bytes and prints extra "DATA [Raw]:" lines extracted from received cmd (RCV). So after the first read cmd "8010F005A80000027DAC", reporting data 0x00, Write (same single address 0x00027D, data byte 0x40) command should log exactly: "8010F005B800027D40FC" Another read to confirm... "8010F005A80000027DAC" Then write data 0x00 (previous state) "8010F005B800027D00BC" Another read to confirm that byte is now 0x00 again - probably normal state of this address. "8010F005A80000027DAC"

Take a look to some of SSM-III workshop function sniffs: EURO5 Diesel seems to have a simular rutine, like for EURO4 is needed. Via OBD Mode 0x22 a routine control commant is set to a serten address. Very simular to the bit writing @ EURO4. But there was also a security access function, bevor sending the routine comant. SDC seems to know the security access challange, maybe they share wiht Dale ? SDC wrote: Authentication
Some PIDs might require seed-key login (algorithm needed, we do not publish crypto). Do these yield negative response message at least or no response at all?

Hey everybody, Im new to this forum and would like to say I think there is some fantastic knowledge floating around this forum. I have been following various threads regarding reseting the oil dilution on the ee20 euro 4 engines and have tried to reset with romraider test app with information posted by Jochen_145. Everything starts out fine until i go to read command and for some reason when I write 8010F005B800027D40FC and send it sends 8010F005B800027D803C. I have attached the file. I would appreciate any help with this. Unfortunately Im more of a spanners type of guy and new to this area.

you worte the wrong hex value to the ECU: you worte "0x80" instate of "0x40". After assumming this value you need to wirte back to "0x00" Just try again like my example

Hi, Thank you so much for your reply. The problem is that when I do write "0x40" and send it, It changes it to "0x80" by itself. It wont allow me to write "0x40". I hope I'm making sense.

Thanks Jochen_145, I think I see my mistake, I wrote in the full trace line and not just "0x40". I will try it again when I get home. Thank you very much for taking the time to reply to my question.

Success I done what you said and it worked perfectly!!! I checked the oil dilution ratio before and it was 6% with 6600 estimated km till oil change. Then after the oil dilution ratio was 0% and 15000 estimated km till next service. My car is an MY09 Subaru impreza. Thanks for all your help Jochen_145.

Hi All,
First post, so be gentle!
I did a search online regarding Subaru boxer diesel Euro 4 and resetting the oil dilution after an oil and filter change, which brought me here. I haven't yet downloaded RomRaider, so just asking a few noobie questions.
Is there a How To Guide on resetting the oil dilution - or is a case of downloading RomRaider, RTFM, learn and then ask.
I Have a Vag-Com KKL 409.1 cable - will this work or do I need the specific Tactrix cable?
Car is a 2009 Subaru Legacy 2.0 D
TIA
Kind Regards,
Eoin

Hi All, I just tried the subdiesel method for reset. 2009 subaru forester 2.0d euro 4 https://subdiesel.wordpress.com/2015/06 ... ine-euro4/I sent the following codes via Romraider ECU editor (see attached). SND: 80 10 F0 05 A8 00 00 02 7D AC RCV: 80 F0 10 02 E8 00 6A SND: 80 10 F0 05 B8 00 02 7D 40 FC RCV: 80 F0 10 00 F8 40 BA SND: 80 10 F0 05 A8 00 00 02 7D AC RCV: 80 F0 10 02 E8 40 AA SND: 80 10 F0 05 B8 00 02 7D 00 BC RCV: 80 F0 10 00 F8 00 7A SND: 80 10 F0 05 A8 00 00 02 7D AC RCV: 80 F0 10 02 E8 00 6A After sending, turning ignition off 20seconds, then back on, am still reading 10% oil reset ratio. Any ideas what I am doing wrong. I am sending "SND" codes one after another without any spaces in between. Manz thanks
