Though, if you want fast and easy to install, give Slackware a shot. Past that, if you want easy and complete, give Ubuntu a try. I'm a linux user since the first 2.0 kernels, I've tried all sorts of distros, Ubuntu has made me the happiest. Since 97 buddy. I've used em all pretty much (before 2.0 even).
I swear I was using it in high school, starting junior year, sooo that was 97 also. You must have been using an *older* release back then.
Damn you two!!! You ruined my dick swinging.

The reason I use gentoo is I have found that compiling to my machine is much more stable and faster than using a base distro. I used to use slack and compile all my other stuff myself that I needed. then I got lazy and used redhat for a long time (and themn mandrake). Tried ubuntu, it sucks. Suse is ok. But gentoo I fell in love with. Other than gentoo, I'd use slack still.

I did the Slackware + compile everything for a long time also. Its fun, up until you want to start getting work done. Not that I didn't mind setting up xwindows for hours on end.
Ubuntu sucks? How so? Seems to be easy and complete.

Damn I'm old. I was already 21 then. I started in 96 really with slack, but didn't get too far until the 2.0 kernels. Then I made my own router/http server/samba server/etc to share my internet connection with my other PCs. I don't use windows cept at work and on my wife's laptop.

Well, I had problems getting it to work well on my wife's laptop. Gettin all sorts of errors, especially with Xorg and the network stuff (wireless), so I gave up on it. Works awesome in gentoo, but gentoo is just a better distro IMHO.

Yeah I Pm'd colby and offered to port ecuflash to linux. Heck, I can port just the flash stuff even easier with automake and cross platform compiles you can add in to your installer. That way you could just call the command line exe with "cmd" in windows or a shell in any other OS.
Let me know if you guys want me to have a go at this and send me the code.

Yup.
Got good logs this morning (damn I need to fix my boost spiking). For some reason yesterday, the logger crapped out early. I added the switch to give it 256 megs o ram and that seemed to do the trick. Still a few bugs it seems, but all in all it worked well. Only sampled about 4x per second. Its about the same as ECU explorer and I am logging the same amount fo params.

Is the "Air/Fuel Sensor #1 (AFR)" the one in the up-pipe? If so, I am going to use it to somewhat rough tune some areas until I get a WB02. The 06's don't have a cat in the pipe, and I heard this is not a narrow band, but a wideband with a few issues. It seems to look like it works well.
The sensor only reads down to 11.02 (the lowest I have seen) and my map calls for 10.28. Is it the wrong sensor or is it just not gonna werk?

AFR #1 is the O2 sensor in the manifold. The uppipe (if catted) has an EGT sensor).
The ECU only reports down to ~11:1, the O2 sensor in that location is not accurate, anyway because of the exhaust pressure. It will read overly rich by the time you get to 13.5-14:1 or so.
You need a WBO2 after the turbo for accurate readings.

Yeah I did some research after that and figured that much out. I guess I am going to get a WB. What would you suggest buying that will work with RomRaider in linux?
