I'm gonna give it a shot this week :mrgreen:

One feature I've wanted for a long time was the ability to add a parameter by address on the fly for testing stuff that has no place in a distributed definition. Understanding how the program goes from xml to object would be a great place to start :)

Like someone on irc said, this stuff is very similar to C#... and understanding the differences is usually intuitive, and never further than a quick search.

Not sure if anyone's doing this, but the address of the ID is in the last 4 bytes of the ROM. For earlier ROMs it's 0x2000, but later ones changed to 0x2004. It's probably worth reading that vector for the source of the ID, not just assuming it's 0x2000.
