I have created a new test release containing RomRaider (effectively unchanged), an updated logger, a new RAMTune test app, and Tgui's Utec logger.

You can get it here: http://download3-7.files-upload.com/2007-04/21/00/RomRaiderTestRelease-rev661.zip

(I was unable to attach it to the thread for some reason - too big?)

My main aim of this release is to have the updated logger tested as it contains a fair bit of rewritten code and some new features. As well as this, there is the RAMTune test app which can read/write to the ECU's memory and do ecu inits. I think Merchgod will want to play with this one.

I'm not sure what Tgui needs/wants tested in the Utec logger so I'll leave that to him, but it is in there if you want to look.

Note that this is a windows only release and contains the latest ecu defs and logger.xml (with one small addition - see connection properties at top of it). To run it, just unzip it somewhere new and use the run.bat batch file to open it.

Post up any problems/bugs/etc that you come across. Thanks!

EDIT: If the above link doesn't work, try this one: http://files-upload.com/files/179367/RomRaiderTestRelease-rev661.zip

I've just downloaded and installed this release, thanks !

May you add an auto refresh with an editable timer delay for the read command ? It may helps to validate some adresses ;)

Thanks again !

It's only a test app for reading and writing to the ecu and requesting an ecu init containing the ecu id etc. just have a play. you could try writing something to an empty part of ram and then reading it out i guess. personally, i'm leaving testing of the write stuff to merchgod as he seems to know where he can write to etc. his input on a testing approach to this would be helpful.

I haven't got a chance to mess with it, but testing would involve writing something to ram and see if it was written correctly. With the 16bit ecus, you can write in the range of 0x400 to 0x800 which is generally where the RamTune tables are going to be located. The 32bit ecus will require some ram dumps. Does the current app save the ram dumps to a file? If so, if someone wants to do some ram dumps for 32bit ecus, let me know your ecu revision and I can tell you the range to do the ram dump. And then we can get a better idea of how many tables we can cram in there.

I'll do a ram dump tonight if the app can save the dump. What ranges do I need?

FOR 201X:
0xFFFF96A0 - 0xFFFFBF98
0xFFFFBFCE - 0xFFFFF446
0xFFFFF666 - 0xFFFFFFFF

For all 32bit dumps you'll probably have to leave off the MSB from what is listed above. For example, use 0xFF96A0 - 0xFFBF98.
