Please post any logger or editor performance problems here.
Include the following: - Computer specs (brand, model, cpu(s), ram, os, etc) - Java version - Enginuity/RomRaider version - What is slow and when (be specific!) - Anything else of relevance.

-dell precision laptop, core 2 duo 2.2Ghz, 4GB ram, 7200rpm disk, xp sp2 -java jre1.60.06/jdk1.60.04 -any 1. Rom load time can be very slow. For some reason it almost seems slower than my 5 year older pentium M laptop. 2. When hitting open button, takes a while for the explorer window to show up, then when navigating takes a while to respond. 3. Load times, editor and logger. Takes a few seconds.

Dell Latitude D830 Core2Duo 2.0ghz 2gb RAM Vista 32-bit Ultimate Java 6 update 5
The logger loads very slow, then the MAF tool takes up a gob of resources and makes the rest of the computer nearly impossible to use.

file open dialog appears to work faster, map load time is hard to tell without using a timer, but maybe.

Enginuity just works so much slower than C/C++ On a serious note, Enginuity does have horrid performance when running within a VM. File opening and def parsing is pathetic for some reason. Runs fine natively though. CPU usage while logging is also a tad high. If I had the time I'd run a profiler, but all I can provide at this point are complaints.

I wouldn't mind trying gcj though on linux. If you were to build in some command line test hooks to spit out performance metrics, I might try compiling a native executable.

Athlon64 Dual-Core @ 2.5GHz, Vista Home Premium SP1, 2GB Ram; Intel Pentium M 1.73GHz, Vista Home Premium SP1, 1GB Ram Java 1.6.0_05 (Java 6 Update 5) RomRaider v037 Test Release
Pasting large tables in from Excel (such as MAF scaling) will apparently hang. javaw.exe goes to 100% CPU usage (or one full core on my dual-core machine) and the paste never completes in RomRaider. I end up killing the process after a few minutes. It's possible that it *might* still be doing something, but I can manually edit the values much faster than however long the paste would actually take to finish.
Copying tables into Excel has always worked fine.

For those not using it already I recommend upgrading to Java 6 update 10 beta. It contains some performance improvements and bug fixes that should help a bit. At least the open file dialog is snappy again.
