HEy all im new here and i am really interested in cracking the new ecu in the 2006 civic si. The first step i want to take in cracking is getting the information off the ROM? From what i here, my car has the Renasas chip. Im really feeling like this car is similiar to the subaru.

Some guys on pgmfi are working with K series ECUs. So far, they haven't had any luck and it doesn't look they are spending a lot of time with it.

From what i understand, this new ecu is different from the 2005 accord. The ecu is made in different places. This ecu is more comparable to the 2005 RSX-S ecu. Trust me i definately looked there, not much luck for those guys. Also this car has already been reflashed, so i know its possible. WOuld it be feasible to pull info with EcuExplorer?

No, ecuExplorer uses SSM (Subaru Select Monitor), not OBD-II. Who has flashed it? Hopefully not just Hondata..

From what i understand yes. Only problem is i dont think that they are the only ones that can flash a Honda ECU. If this was the thought among people then no ECU would be cracked.

from what I know Hondata does not actually reflash the chips, instead they replace the factory rom chip with a writable eprom.

Even on the new ecu's 2006. This would be pretty difficult, but it is a possibility.

True, same as with open source tools such as crome, etc...
