A couple of comments about this:

http://www.romraider.com/RomRaider/GettingStarted

There are several eclipse versions. You might want to suggest which one to download. I usually just use the Java EE version but maybe the smaller Eclipse IDE for Java Developers is good enough?

It could also mention that you need to install a git plug in to actually check out the code with git in the first step mentioned under the "Setting up the RomRaider Project".
The Eclipse IDE (Indigo) for Java EE download does not include a git plug in. So...

-Help->Eclipse Marketplace
-Search for 'git' or 'EGit' (name of the plug in)
-Install, restart, keep going as it mentions..

Finally, the ANT build instruction should read "3" not "2". The dialog that allows you to select 'all' in targets is under #3 with the "..." after it.

Yes it is.

Since I don't use the EE version then these appear to be different. In the non-EE version they appear as the guide states.
Thanks for the additional info, I've updated the guide.

The EE version is mostly a waste of time, even when you're in "Enterprise" :-) All of the extra stuff that it comes with is easily installable post downloading the std Java version, if you should suddenly find that you need it.

The latest versions, java and EE at least, come with maven and git included as part of eclipse. In the past they were separate, but not anymore AFAIK.

Even if I'm planning C only use with CDT I still get the Java version and just install the CDT stuff over it. The Java version comes with a lot of nice stuff that you don't get in the CDT version std.

Fred.

OK, this is good info. I think as long as the geting started guide suggests the specific version (non EE) then things should be fine then.

On windows you also have the selection of 32 bit or 64 bit version. I assume you want to use the 32 bit version on 64 bit windows then?

Not according to these lists:
Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers
Eclipse IDE for Java Developers

You're better off with the Eclipse IDE for Java Developers version.
I too add in the CDT, DLTK, etc... afterwards.

Best to stick with 32 bit even though I don't think it matters for the IDE portion.

Huh! That's surprising! You've got to wonder why they think the EE guys don't need M2 and Git :-/ Still, the Java one DOES have both:

org.eclipse.egit
org.eclipse.m2e.feature

I thought the same thing considering the Eclipse project uses Git for it's own development.
