Well, very impressed by SD and other patches. I was thinking of another patches which could be very usefull.
The first one is about flex-fuel, or dual-map (one for regular gaz, the other for race gaz or E85). Anyone having a look at 2008+ ROM should have noticed that they are very close to be "flex-fuel ready".That's even more true with the 2011 STi Sedan ROM where the "Knock correction Advanced Alternate mode" switch already exists, with related open-loop fueling tables and knock correction additive maps. I guess that we should use one of the S-I drive selection mode to force the map switch ? Any interrest in this dual map for 2008+ ?
The second one concerns a very annoying effect when switching to bigger injectors on 2008+ Scoobies (CANbus). It appears that the estimate for fuel consumption monitored on the dashboard is calculated from the injectors scaling you set in the ECU's ROM ! It would be good to have a small patch for this one so that the dashboard keeps providing relevant fuel consumption whatever the injectors scaling are.
Thanks

Thanks. But this one concerns 2008+ STi's which already have all the map available. We just need the trick to force the MSR using SI Drive selector The other patch concerning displayed fuel consumption should be very simple and interresting

So this doesn't seem to make any interrest here ! Could one of you great developper, make the Primary/alternate switch available through the Si-Drive button ? Just by doing this, it will allow dual-map for gas and ethanol. Other request : fuel consumption on dash board which is incorrect when changing injector scaling. Thks

Both are great ideas that I have a lot of interest in them as well. It doesn't seem like a lot of people care about about if their mpg reading is correct or not though. I just do some math to figure out what my real value is but I wouldn't mind if it could be patched to read correctly.
As for using KCA alternative mode to switch between E85 and gas; I've thought about this concept too. Turning KCA alt mode on could be for gas so that your timing is based on base timing + primary advance tables + compensations. Turning it off would let the additive tables add your extra timing for E85. That part would be pretty straightforward. What about fueling though? Sure you can have different fuel maps for E85 vs gas but how do you handle the injector scaling? You could scale your injectors for gas and then setup the E85 fueling map whatever % richer you need to but how would you handle closed loop fueling? Maybe there is a way to do it but I'm not sure what it would be. You also wouldn't have any way to change your tables/values that use injector pulse width so things like tip-in enrichment would be off.
Another thing to note is that this concept wouldn't really allow the car to act like a true "flex fuel" car. You would either need to run E85 or gas and do your switching when you've run the tank down to E. You would also need to be very mindful of the setting of Si drive. If someone else changed it and you didn't notice that could be very bad. That also makes me think of one other thing that could be an issue and that's when the CEL comes on. From my experience, my car sets itself to S mode and cannot be changed.

I have been working on my own project for this system.
Basically, having a E85 fuel additive map based on fuel pulsewidth on top of the stock fuel map. So say 4000rpm on ID1000's on 98, 12ms pulsewidth based on target AFR's on load site, then adding say 4ms to run E85 to reach target AFR. Similar concept on ignition timing, with a KCA style E85 fuel additive and also cold start map additive. It is probably far from perfect but the minimal ROM space makes it ideal. Due to the variance in ethanol content and also possible blended tanks, the ECU logic dictates a SD blending style map based on front O2 sensor heater resistance so if EGT temps rise, the ECU will start blending towards the E85 table as required in 10% increments.
Clutch in + Brake pedal, speed under 2kph, press the Cruise Control ACC button to activate the E85 tune, then flash the Coolant Temp Sensor light blue to confirm active Clutch in + Brake pedal, speed under 2kph, press the Cruise Control Coast button to activate the Pump tune, then flash the Coolant Temp Sensor light red to confirm active
Coolant light will flash blue each time it 'cools' by going 10% towards the E85, flash red each time it comes back 10%. Each 10% increase towards E85 would be approx 0.45 pump fuel AFR + little more timing etc.
