I can confirm that this has solved the wastegate flutter. The wastegate sounds the same running any boost level the same as it does on spring pressure. The wastegate diaphragm must float nicely now to control the boost!!!

This is really cool, but what about 32-bit ROMs? Could someone make a guide how to find it, like did it for AF3 learning and rear O2 compensation or cruise/non-cruise mode? Please! :wink:

My rom is 32bit. I suggest you get in contact with oren. He deserves a donation for his ability to find these things. I identified the issue. He did the hard yards! No other tuning platforms have this worked out yet for our ecus. A true open source exclusive!! :D :D

Furthermore to using a proportional valve. These valves require a frequency of 2khz. If i worked it out correctly and understand how the ecu is modulating the frequency correctly. We would need a minimum of 8bit to run 2khz. If we have a 32 bit ecu then that should be plenty!

Glad to hear it's confirmed as working, I'm looking forward to implementing this myself.

Post up the CAL id's you want defined, and I'll start digging out the addresses. I'll also add the map definition to the EcuFlash 32bitbase on my github branch, but in the meantime, here's the EcuFlash def xml code:
Code:
<scaling name="wastegate_solenoid" units="Hz" toexpr="250000/x" frexpr="250000/x" format="%.2f" min="0" max="255" inc="1" storagetype="uint16" endian="big"/>
   <table name="Wastegate Solenoid Pulse Frequency" category="Alpha - Wastegate" type="1D" level="1" scaling="wastegate_solenoid"/>
And this to CAL xml:
Code:
<table name="Wastegate Solenoid Pulse Frequency" address=""/>

Since this is going to get into the wild fairly quickly, what the hell ;) Address for AZ1G101M, AZ1G101N and AZ1G202G is 0xc009a. Try it - seems to be the location for quite a couple of roms. In the older roms, C026A crops up quite often (e.g. for Merp's original rom - A8DH202X).

Otherwise - post up your cal, and I'll pull it for you.

Sambo - what Hz are you running? 30? And did you half the wastegate duty?

Im running a mac 3port solenoid. I went with 31hz as thats widely used on other platforms for this valve. I did halve the duty cycle although i am working my way back up now. It seems like the duty may only need to be reduced slightly. The higher the frequency the less resolution the duty cycle has.

Good to know, that's the 3 port I'm running.

Address for 2005 USDM Legacy GT & Outback XT:
A2WC521C, A2WC522N, A2WC521R, A2WC522S is: 0xC008A
In hex the value is 3FF7

There are other values in and around this area that are called by similar looking subroutine sequences so one of these might be for the fuel pump.

This is pretty cool. I can say the car is pulling so hard! It is pulling way harder at 26psi than it was before running 30psi. Night and day. As for the fuel pump. I will try and measure what frequency its presently running, might help identity it in the rom.

It looks like byte sequence 3FF7 is pretty rare in 32bit ROMs. For example, in AZ1E400U it appears twice. First match is code and second (btw, at 0xC009A) is definitely frequency value. I checked XREFs and they looks exactly the same as at AZ1G101M, AZ1G101N and AZ1G202G.

Thank you very much guys, you are awesome!
