Why would there be two Tip in tables for NA ECUs? One is rich and the other is richer. is this EGR related? My engine has no AVCS.

I've not had a chance to look at any of the subaru tables yet (hopefully will this weekend) but on the MoTec there are three tables for acceleration and deceleration compensation. Clamp, sensitivity and decay. Sensitivity is pretty self explanatory, the clamp is the maximum % value and the decay is the % per rev that is taken out.

If I were tuning a MoTec after looking at your graph I'd say that either the clamp or sensitivity is too high and your decay is too quick. IE you add too much in right away (the quick rich dip) and then you take too much out too soon (the lean climb before settling). If it does this regardless of how "quickly" you add throttle I'd say that your sensitivity is okay, you should lean out the tip-in and decrease your decay value.

Again, those were the MoTec tables and I've no clue yet what the scoobie ones read. Just providing some food for thought to help get juices flowing.

Can someone give me some advice. When I rev my afr drops to 10 then slowly goes back to 14.7. Is this normal or is this a tip in issue

I had the same issue and I couldn't understand the TIE tables correctly to be honest with you. So I said to myself: ''ok when I stab the throttle, the ecu sprays more fuel for a certain period of time (delay) and stops...what if I make the correction to be shorter in time? The enrichment becomes less and the AFR won't drop too low?

And guess what...it's about 50% better than before. When I floor it, it goes down to 11.2 and back up to 11.5 wich is my POL fueling. Take note that my open loop MAF scale is pretty acurate so it helps...

Hi i just wanted some clarification on throttle position delta. Is is throttle pedal% or throttle plate% that i need to be checking to tune tip in? trying to fine tune some lean tip in but throttle pedal% delta vs throttle plate% can be up to 20% difference. (obviously would point to 2 different points on the tipin scale.

im having trouble with my tip in. mostly on cold starts. i got a better log just now, its hard to log fast tipin with the slow rate of the romraider logger but i got enough. I think "tip-in" is a poor name. It should be called "throttle change" since this table effects tip in and tip out. Richening up tip in doesnt fix my lean spike at tip in, it only worsens my rich dip on tip out. so i must be looking in the wrong place

or can the tipin table be scaled from -20% to +20% instead of 0-40%?

I too have had issues with dialing in tip in. My only success has been to richen that area up on my VE table and target a richer AFR, specifically 2k to 3k area.

Same worked for me, the low ROM, higher psia we're just too lean, mainly around 10-14psia x 800-1200rpm
