Just looking for info on the stock H6 3.0 EZ30D 2005-2009 (aka EZ30R for the internet). I've picked up the themes below from threads around the world that describe problems with the stock ROM causing knock or dull driving. I've compared most of the 3.0 AT stock roms available here which are kind of similar. Be great if you can share your experience here.

- Timing tables have high advance values - 8 base tables, 2 KCA max tables
- Intake AVCS timing advance changes too aggressively
- CL to OL fueling transition too slow
- OL fueling is too lean
- DBW tables are conservative
- The factory exhaust headers restrict airflow, seems Raptor headers the only alternative
- These engines have 10.7 compression so require premium fuel

EDIT: here's some steps for stock if it helps the the discussion - we also need to throw AVCS into the mix
1. Speed up CL-OL https://www.romraider.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1603
2. Enrich open loop fueling
3. Grab the 8 base, 2 advance timing tables from D2UK001Q into Excel
4. Flatten KCA above 1.0 load so everything below 1.0 is 0 then say 8* for cruise advance, 12* for non-cruise advance. Copy these into the ROM
5. Drive and log a lot, applies to all steps
6. Increase KCA where possible
7. Improve DBW responsiveness [url][https://www.romraider.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=4426&start=0]

Early ROM's have two 'cruise tables' and one 'power table' that latter changed to four cruise(A,B,D,E) and two power(C & F) then 2007 onwards had four of each.
KCA is the Cruise KCA and the Power KCA tat applies to ever Base

Intake AVCS is no issues, load increase as overlap increases
Easy fixed with Primary Fuel and other tuning
DBW tables are too 'cliff faced'

Raptor is great upgrades

I have tuned them for 91RON(US87 fuel) so comes own to the tune

Stock Rom D2UK001Q has a set of timing tables (base A-H, advance A,B) that provide lower overall timing a little lower than other H6 stock tunes, I've run these awhile no problems so good for areas like mine where premium gas isn't so premium.

What exactly is done for a lower octane tune? Enrich the fueling tables and take a bit of timing out at peak loads?

I thought most all of the 3.0 H6 stock timing tables were the same. However looking at D2UK001Q stock timing is reduced which seems to be an exception from the dozen or so ROM's I've looked at. Just curious if anyone knows why this one ROM would be different? D2UK001Q is described as 2007 JDM 3.0 Legacy (AT) at https://www.romraider.com/index.php/Doc ... portedECUs.

Here's a timing compare showing Base Timing C + Max Advance B between my 2008MY JDM 3.0 outback (AT) and D2UK001Q. We can see overall timing is quite a bit lower for D2UK001Q.

I also have 05 outback 3.0r and the rom has EU code but the timings are exactly same with the jdm version. I changed the timings with the 08 EU version and It's totally different and the car runs smoother and also iam stays much stable. I think they change the ignition timing for the EU version as they should do at the beginning because of the fuel quality and octane differences.

That is a good result thanks for sharing this - what is the ECU ID of the 08 EU version that you used for timing please?

I'll write all of them as soon as I get my pc which I just use for tuning the car.

I'd copied the newer model ecu's sport mode settings. (I think that they are correct ones but I'm not exactly sure, I guess them by looking at the data's on the tables)

I'd change;
İgnition timing tables (ABC and time corrections AB)
Cl fueling comp table (this is the most importent part on 5eat shifting points)
Avcs
Egr table
Disable AF3 corrections (because of cat delete)
All the tables in knock correction tables which are different.
And also maf scale is a little bit different, not much.
A little dbw table changes

Those are the ones I can remember without my pc but I'll give more info and share my rom.

When copying the tables feom 08 to ky 05, I keep in mind what changed on newer models like fuel pump and regulator and dbw switching modes system like sport- sport sharp etc.

Thanks Tugsay if you get a chance to share the ROM or strategy that would be hugely appreciated.

Does anyone know how throttle angle is set during fuel cut at deceleration? I would like to reduce the engine braking effect just a little as my stock ECU sets the throttle angle to 1.37% but didn't see any tables with similar values.

Sorry for delay ajayel.
My stock rom is D2ZZ001E

08 edm model rom is D2TB201R

My car don't have mode selection options thats because 05' stock rom have 3 timing tables and one set of dbw table.

I disabled af3 correction table because I delete both cats. New ones are crazy expensive and my car is much more friendly for the environment than lots of old trucks, busses etc which are using in my country.

CL fueling compensation table is the first key point for the fun fact of transmission change points on throttle, load, rpm changes. After copying the table which don't have the 206 numbers on higher rpms, you'll feel the change.

It's a little bit difficult for me to explain the logic on that table but I try to give you some hints and if you are ambitious enough to figure out, you'll be happy to arrange that table for your taste. I couldn't change it as close to my liking but it's much better now.
When you look at that table, first thing you should know is that the number are changing the AF ratio when you push the throttle. They are mostly minus numbers because if there is -0.200 on certain load and rpm, that means the car runs richer than 14.7, it will run 14.5.
We don't have access to the tcm module and can not control all the teansmission behavior but by changing cl fueling compensation and dbw tables, we can change the transmission behavior on close loop fueling. For open loop, we don't have any control or I don't know but I'm ok with the cars stock behavior on open loop.

There is a trick you can test on cl fueling comp table and transmission behavior is the numbers on the table. For example, if you are driving slowly on 2000rpm 0.50load and push the throttle and load increase to 1.00 and rpm increase to 2200rpm, look at the table, if the numbers on that table rises 30, the car downshifts. (Strange but true) :)
Another hint;
Get the same example, push the throttle enough to raise the 0.5load 2000rpm to 1.00 load section and if the number incraise 30 and for example it was -0.050 on 2000rpm 0.50load and to rises -0.080 on 2200rpm 1.00load, the car downshifts, you push the throttle steadily, the load stays the same as 1.00 but the rpm rises 2200-2400-2600-2800 etc on that load, look at the numbers on the table, the car upshifts whenever the next 2 numbers are the same or there is more than 30. There is a logic on that table but I couldn't arrange it because I did'nt have time to read that much log :)

I hope this info will be helpful because there might be some mistakes but I think you get the point and if you figure this out please let me know.

After understanding the cl fuwling comp table, you can change the teansmission points on open loop by changing the dbw tables.

Dbw table are different on 05' and 08' but when you do the correct math, they are same.

Thank you for this info! I compared my ROM D2PH410Q with the EDM ROM D2TB201R and found CL Fuelling Target Compensation are the same. I didn't try the altering the CL compensation values at this time for shifting because my tune is running much more in open loop due to the modified CL to OL transition tables. I haven't got to the point of using the DBW tables to adjust shift points but this is on the list of things to do because my cars loves to live in 5th gear which is not always good.

Hi Tugsay. Do you suggest changing the CL fueling, DBW tables or both? I want the transmission to shift 5>4 in closed loop fueling at highway driving speed when the accelerator pedal is pressed.
