Trying to dial in FIC 1650 injectors on a 2004 USDM STI A2ZJ710J Merpmoded ecu. CL to OL delay parameters are all set to 0. Minimum active primary OL set to 14.65 and all of the idle areas (for now)of the OL fueling tables are set to less than 14.65.

When logging, the CL/OL status stays at 7 indefinitely, and I can scale the injectors anywhere from 1200 to 1800 and it will not change the fact that the car cruises and idles at sub 12:1 afr. (because it's stuck in "warm up"?) As I mentioned, I only made the idle region less that 14.65 in the OL tables but it still affects everything- idle AND cruising around.

Once I normal the tables back up for CL/OL operation, cruise will go back to stoich, but I'm dealing with idle issues and not to mention AF correction is over 20% at idle. Currently when not forced into open loop, Injectors are scaled at 1460 on 93oct with a fuel pressure of 50psi, latencies are set based on info given by FIC (which was taken from Cobb).

Should I see a value of "10" when forcing OL?

yeah pretty sure you should be seeing 10 for closed loop driving - 7 it thinks its still warming up or maybe the o2 sensor hasn't reached operating temperature which is possible if your AFR is excessive. I wouldn't take the supplied data as gospel just think of it as a good starting point to begin tuning with.

The car is very warmed up, so there's no question there. I thought maybe I had a bad O2 but it matches my wideband relatively close. My two main concerns I guess is that 1. It never changes from "7" and 2. While it's showing 7 I can put ANY value in the scalar and nothing really changes so I never get to see the results of the VE values I have in there. Not sure if I'm missing something.

Mine was like this after I got a base map from a tune shop. 1. check to see if you're forced full time Open loop is enabled. if it is check your cl/op transition settings under cl delay min (ETC) they set mine to 246 degrees so no matter what the car stayed in warm up because it'll never get there lol. Hope this helps if you didn't figure it out already! Also just disabling the force open loop allowed me to go into CL/OP and adjust all the tune and have it make a difference. Only figured out the ECT part today while I was looking thru the hexadecimal code for addresses for my btssm app and saw that the 7 designation related to the ECT not being high enough and it all clicked. 8)

Thank you, that's good info!! I'll look at that. When you say "check to see if you're forced full time Open loop is enabled" are you referring to setting the AFR in the Minimum Active Primary OL to match the OL fueling tables?

Give these values a shot. I talked to FIC a while back and these were the updated values they sent me.
