Hey guys, hopefully someone here can help me on this one:
I changed the turbo from td04 to vf34, injectors from blue to pink and tmic from oem wrx to oem sti on my 2001 wrx. I was wondering would it be safe to reflash the ecu with a stock 2001 sti map with ecuflash? I'm not looking for any HP gains for now, just to have it running safe and reliable. For now i have the base wrx map and it's running very rich (don't worry i'm not daily driving it until i get this properly sorted)
In my mind this should work since i'm running the same parts as the ecu would expect? Then in order to see if it's running too lean/rich just to log in rom raider and see if she's fine? The only issue i could see is that i don't have a 3rd party wideband AFR sensor to accurately check the ratio and would have to rely on the onboard AFR.

Would i be able to just download the correct STI Rom off the thread and be fine writing it to my ECU?

I'm pretty new to this, tried to read up but was a bit confused with the Base and Stock roms on the forums so any help is greatly appreciated. Looking to continue reading up on this forum to eventually learn to properly adjust and tune the map! :)

No dot not flash

This will result in an ecu that will not start the car. The program is different. Whereas you need to change the variables to get the car to work with the mods

You need to edit and update the parameters on your rom file and id

Worst case get a similar rom and copy the parameters.

I have a 2002 bugeye with a vf34 and 550 injectors

Note I am very seldom on here

Since posting this i've gathered that this is probably the way i'm going to go and reflashing an sti map is a real bad idea. i've read through the guides and how-to's and will continue doing so to get comfortable. then do a couple of logs to understand how the ecu works looking at the injector latency, scaling and afr tables since i haven't touched the intake. as for turbo during mapping for injectors i'd run a vacuum line from compressor housing to the wastegate for now and once the afr is looking good either end up taking it to a tuner for turbo tuning or read up on that as a next step.

you said you had a thread where you had a similiar topic but i can't find it on the forums unfortunately. do you maybe have a link for me?
