Hi All,

New member here and was wondering if anyone could help as my tuner is not responsive and not very helpful at the moment.

I am currently running ID 1050x Injectors on a 2014 wrx sti ADM EJ257 and the flow set in my tune is 130x cc/min???
Car was initially fine, but on cold starts the revs stumble and hunt. What parameters in the map should I look at to correct this

running on pump fuel 98RON in Australia.

Mod list:
blouch 1.5xtr
id1050x injectors
aem 340lph Fuel pump
radium FPR
ETS tmic
kn typhoon intake
aos
catted downpipe and catback exhaust

Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.

Tune is generally very good just cold start is sometimes an issue.

Thanks

it could be the flow rate was set to help dial in MAF or VE tables depending on the rest of your setup - but if the car runs fine when its warm then i wouldn't get too caught up in it.

There are a few tables specifically for cold start fuelling/warm up enrichment that you can look at - once you've logged your cold start then take a look at the log and decide if you need a little more AFR or an adjustment to timing to help smooth it out a bit.

unfortunately you can't post the rom here so you're going to have to make your own decisions on what to change - but you could try a small increase/decrease to the warm up tables and test them out to see what feels better as a starting point.

Thanks for your reply. It is greatly appreciated.

As Im fairly new to delving into the tuning aspect myself what tables specifically do I look at for cold start.

Also how would I log cold start? is it a matter of logging during start up and warm up or is there a specific way to go about it?

Thanks heaps

for cold start tables take a look at your rom and you'll see some listed as cold start enrichment or warm up enrichment. You can log a cold start and see what your AFR looks like and use that to make some adjustments so you get a consistent healthy AFR until the engines got some temperature in it.

its hard to give anything specific without seeing the rom and some logs so you're just going to have to get stuck in or start from scratch with your own tune.

Thanks for that. I've looked up the ROM and there are warm-up enrichment tables however there are 3 which I'm not too sure which ones to change. the ROMID I have matched with my ecu is AZ1N100M and have compared my tables with the stock rom I got from GIB.

I will post a few logs later but it seems at cold start when revs are around 1500rpm the AFR based offl Fuel targets is 1.2 Lambda which is rather Lean? and timing is quite low.

The Car takes a little lo ger to crank if I press the start button Immediately. I have to turn ignition on for about 1-2 seconds the. clutch in and start car for it to fire up relatively easily.

Any further thoughts?

Thanks

opensource uses a constant to convert the natural ECU injector scalar from a duration based pulsewidth to a relative flow rating.

Cobb uses the OEM value type (duration in microseconds to equal stoichiometric at 1 gram of airmass per revolution) in their spreadsheets, so you would be copying everything from ID's spreadsheet for Cobb over to ECUflash.

the constant is 2707090, you take the RAW uSec value and divide it into 2707090 and you get "cc/min flow". take the flow value and divide it into 2707090 to get what you're running for RAW ECU / duration based injector scalar.

So, if your "cc/min" value is high, then your airmass values in your MAF scale MUST be higher. You can only rob Peter if you want to pay Paul.

if you're 30% lean on injector scalar, then you must be 30% rich on airmass scalar. (MAF/VE)

everything that uses airmass (load) as an axis will be skewed, and you won't be able to compare airmass figures or columns of data on 3D tables, and basically most tables will end up custom and incomparable to anyone else.

TL;DR: your cc/min scalar is 979.44 for E10, don't forget low pulsewidth, fix your MAF/VE scale, then consider comparing JDM TGV free ROMs for their differing post start enrichments in the event that your TGV free.

So jon7009, what you are trying to say is the tuner has scalled the MAF "wrong" and ultimately the Injector scalling as well?

Currently still running TGVs and none of that stuff has been changed.

Apologies for the dumb questions but as stated am totally new to all this tuning but would really like to delve into it more as have always had a keen interest in it.

Not running E10 but purely 98RON premium unleaded in Australia.

Thanks!
