I was just about to purchase an openport to disable P0420 but I read that the smog checks now detect ECU changes. Does anyone know if it will work or not?

pretty sure they will be checking the CVN to confirm the tune loaded is a stock tune - plus if you're needing to disable that code your car won't pass emissions check anyway.
