Hello guys. I've been driving with a decat downpipe for a while now but I'm planning on installing a cat again. Together with my tuner I tweaked my rom and set Initial and Max WGDC tables to 0 all across the tables. I did a log yesterday (still decat) and noticed that knock sum on cylinder 4 was over 80 when i stopped logging. Cylinder 1, 2, 3 was at 5, 5, 1 I think. Is this normal? IAM was at 1.00 all through the log. FBKC and FLKC was at 0 all through the logs. I chose the 4-byte versions, was this correct? Car is a 2014 EDM STI (not VA chassis).

I am likely one of the least knowledgable people on here but would say: no. That is not normal.
Could perhaps log for cylinder roughness as well, change your ignition coil & plug/ inspect. Or perhaps it is a more mechanical problem (ringland fail) my 2 cents
Goodluck

I had some time to Google it yesterday. I did not come to a conclusion whether it’s normal or not. I was some posts on other forums with people having high counts on cylinder 4. However I read that the knock sensor is on cylinder 4 so it might pick up more sound from that area.

did you actually LOG it that high though or just saw the value was at some point 80?

If you actually logged it when driving, then I'd say not normal/not good - maybe worth popping the plugs out for a nosey. If you logged it when you were playing with ignition on/off or connecting/reconnecting the logger and its just in there as the "max" value then most likely just a data quirk and I wouldn't worry about it.

I was logging, and now when i double checked the log I can see that I stopped logging at 64 however I remember seeing 80 on the screen before disconnecting the computer. I've attached the log, but it does not meet the minimum requirements though. Also this was done while cruising, no WOT pulls.

if i saw a log like that i wouldn't even start tuning the car, straight to back to the garage and pop the plugs out for a nosey something not right at all.

Hopefully its just something jingling in the engine bay that happens to line up with when cylinder 4 fires, but the plugs should give you a clue as to what's going on.

That sounds very worrying. Since this is turning out to be more of a troubleshooting thread I'm gonna go ahead and provide the mod list.

    Manley pistons 9.1:1 99.75mm
    ZRP I profile rods
    OEM crank shaft
    ACL bearings
    12mm oil pump
Stock heads except manley titanium springs and retainers
    Closed deck + o-ring grooves
    EGR TGV delete
    RCM fuel rail
    Stock injectors
    Walbro GST520 fuel pump
    Perring CAI intake
    3" decat downpipe
    Stock turbo

The car is tuned with all these mods. The only difference I made before logging was flashing a rom with WGDC 0.
I'm also attaching a LTV from driving about 150 km (93 miles) with the map that has WGDC tables turned up. This LTV is from before the log I posted.

Is this a ragebait post? Lmao. Friend, you are clearly running extremely rich. Go get a refund/ re vist your 'tuner'.

Flash on stock map. And scale MAF from there, using RR MAF Scaling tool. (Only does closed loop). Then maybe look into some of the awesome spreadsheets others have put together & you can dail in other things.

Not a ragebait at all. MAF scaling for both closed and open loop is on my to do-list. I just thought it was strange that cyl 4 had so much more knock counts than the other cylinders, and that IAM still was at 1.
