carberry 04 wrx - ej257 shortblock(60k miles) s20 heads (220k miles)
    565 pink injectors
    Tomioka 16g billet wheel turbo
    process west tmic
    3port ebcs
catless uppipe - catted dp - 3in exhaust
cobb intake and airbox - tomioka racing inlet
killer b AOS - gdt cyl 4 cooling
    92 octane fuel
    sea level

Working on dialing in my car and I've got a few kinks to work out. First thing is low load OL fueling being inconsistent, sometimes its one the money but most of the time its rich. Was able to do a sustained pull up a hill and that shows it going very rich, compared to ffb and the actual table. High load fueling tends to be pretty accurate.

Second thing is boost control. The wastegate that comes with the turbo is supposed to be 16 psi, but very regularly opens at 18 psi. I'm pretty sure I have the wastegate on the minimum possible tension (possibly lower because it sounds like either the wg rattles now, or an exhaust leak has incredible timing) but it still struggles to open much lower than 17.

Finally, got some proper audible knock on one pull, and I'm just looking for general input. I used to be able to push 20 psi without much issue but these days 18 is pretty much the limit. I think this is due to a burnt exhaust valve, no signs of busted ringlands or excessive oil consumption that might contribute to knock. Also a limiting factor is all the bearing wear from a failing oil pump. Shop misdiagnosed a few times so it did some harm, sucks to suck.

Otherwise just general input, I wont claim I have a clue what I'm doing so anything you've got for me to learn is apricated.

the gate opening pressure, did you test that with a compressor or are you basing this on MAP readings at the ECU?

Also the logs alone will only tell part of the story, post your rom up as well to compare the logs against.

Speaking of logs, if your logging manifold absolute pressure its a little timesaver to log your target pressure as absolute as well rather than trying to convert the relative sea level target to match the absolute reading.

Your throttle in "pull 1" only reaches 70% eventually, normally for a pull I would get to just below 3000rpm then give it 100% pedal. Otherwise things like tip in/tip out will be messing with your fuelling because of the change in TPS.

The knock is hard to say at the moment for me, but are you listening with det cans or just assuming everything is good when the ECU isn't pulling timing?

I havent tested the waste gate with a compressor, only checked via map.

Good note on changing the target boost to absolute, don't know why I never checked for that as an option.

As for the pulls, that's a good note. I've been babying the car cause it just hasn't been in "let 'er rip" condition for awhile. I'll try to get some of 100% @ 2900-3000rpn pulls soon here.

For the knock, little column A little column B. The knock in the log was audible from the cabin mid pull, hence the instant lift off the throttle. I have listened with det cans to verify that some low rpm knock was phantom but I didn't use them on these pulls.

As for the ROM, I tried to attach it but the forum kept saying file type not allowed. I'll try again lol

Right, forgot about compressing the ROM.
