Hello,
I have a USDM 2010 Forester XT, I am looking to convert it to a WRX ROM file. My current rom file is AZ1G600R. To my understanding I should be able to write a ROM file that has the 4 matching letters, and I shoudl be able to do a test write and if the first 3 yes/no return a yes, then I should be good to flash.
The reason why I ask is, currently I am installing a VF52, I would assume that since the motor basically matches an 08-14 WRX, I should be able to use that as a base. Secondly, I do plan to swap it to a manual, and on the forums, everyone says to flash a WRX to retain ABS functionality (has something to do with not having a TCU, or something along those lines), but no one can give me what rom they used, or how they did it.
So with that being said, can anyone confirm that I am able to flash to a WRX rom? The M/T rom I found is AZ1G400W, but cannot seem to get my hands on an automatic version of the rom.
Thanks!

Any updates on this, I'd like to know if I can use the Merp patch GR WRX (08-11) rom on a SH Forester XT (09-13) and wanted to know if this is possible before I attempt flashing. Anyone do this?

i dont think they made an automatic WRX in that year to find the rom for it to flash on - that's probably fine if your making the car a manual swap anyway.
If you want to do a test write and compare and post up the results that will give you a good idea if you can at least undo the flash if it doesn't work as expected.
