Is it possible to disable a couple codes from my SH FXT with ECU FLASH?
(Would I need Rom Raider also?)

I'm battling the recurring problem of SAI Failure and wanted to disable P1410 & P2441 so I can have cruise control and traction control back as well as stop the CEL.

Is this a waste of time to pursue, or am I on the right track?
Any and all advice welcome.

Thanks

yeah download the rom with ECUFlash, turn the codes off, flash it back to the car and that should be job done.

Do I need to get ROM RAIDER involved?
Reason I asked if this is at all possible is because I tried re-flashing the ROM with what I thought were the codes disabled (Maybe I screwed this up and didn't do it right) and thought it was all successful, but next day driving it had the same codes come back within 2 minutes of the cold start (standard behavior with codes cleared and starting cold).

Maybe I missed something disabling the specific codes.
Or something else, having the correct defs for my FXT perhaps?

sounds like maybe you didnt do something right. If they codes are turned off in the rom and its flashed to the ecu then the codes are off it can't flag that code anymore.

You can edit the rom in ecuflash or romraider editor, the results should be the same (assuming defs are all setup and correct), you'll still be flashing it on with ecuflash either way.

Thanks for the reply, I'm glad you confirmed it should work because it made me go back and take a second look at it from a fresh start.

I'm leaving this here for anyone else that has this recurring problem and wants a simple fix, as so far it seems to be completely fixed/solved.

The problem I had; there were similar codes further on down the list that I had missed with the same code numbers (e.g. P1410) but different values/parameters. So I had disabled P2441 that had valve stuck closed bank 1. BUT, further down where I had not seen, there was also P24441 that would trigger with valve stuck open bank 1.
So I trawled through all the DTC's for any SAI related codes and disabled all of them, re-flashed the ECU and so far... no codes!

So, for anyone with a similar issue with a SH or similar model, it can be done.
I bought this cable as Tactrix is no longer an option:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BXGDHZGL?_e ... sl-20&th=1

They provide their own drivers etc. and warn against using their cable without their drivers. So once I got the cable, I followed the link they provided and downloaded ECU Flash and drivers from them. Plugged into the ECU and loaded the ROM - I used the Def for 2007+ CAN BUS Subaru's which seemed like a good generic one.
disabled all the codes that related to the SAI, test flashed and no errors came up so I went for it and it was successful.

Goodluck to anyone else that encounters this problem, I hope you find this solution.
