ok so i have been failing inspection (ODB-II plug in) because of the p0037 code that i have been getting. so i replaced the o2 and still got it, checked all the wires to the ecu, everything is fine, so the net step in the service manual is to replace the ecu. but f that, its like $700 for a new one. so i tryed turning off the code with RomRaider and it got rid of the cel light, but the car won't go into the ready state for o2 sensor and cat. anyone got a way to program around this? if not im screwed......

Have you tried updating your ROM to a newer version? What are you running?

99% of the time, P0037 (DS O2 heater shorted low) will be a short in the O2 wiring for the heater (shorted to ground). Try this -- unplug the downstream sensor completely and see what fault you get -- you should NOT get P0037 again (I'd expect either P0038 -- DS heater shorted hi or P0036 DS O2 heater fault). If P0037 comes back, it's still either the module or wiring. Next, you could pull the O2 heater pin out of the module (never messed with my Scooby wiring, not sure if this is a PITA or what). If you remove the O2 heater pin, then plug everything back in and still get the P0037, then you're definitely dealing with a module problem (since everything else is out of the system).

To make the fault go away, you'd need to find the voltage threshold in the base ROM that is used to call the sensor bad. Even if you cal'd this out (0v) you might still fail and you could get some funky operation since the system could try to run off the sensor when it's cold. You'd probably end up setting P0141 (O2 heater rationality) if you just cal'd out the P0037.....

Not really the answer(s) you were looking for, but this is the closest I have to useful advice...
