I have one car running it right now. I can post logs and the ROM if anyone is interested. It is a conservitive map. Boost set to 17psi, timing has been adjusted down a bit in the main timing map and the DA maps have a bit more authority. Boost coarse gain has had a small tweak along with the WGDC maping.
The tune is for a completly stock 2004 Sti. More info on the ECU and ROM upload when I get home today.
I may make a couple of more changes before I upload the ROM. Just gauging intrest right now. I still want to make sure the ROM is good on one more car.
I would like one more person to try it. If you have a stock 2004 Sti and want to test the tune before I upload it PM me.

Some more info on this ROM. It started as a A2ZJ500J-AJ241 stock ROM.
I edited it from scratch, no other tuners maps were used to make this ROM.
BTW I am the same TMS as from NASIOC and IWSTI.

If I were starting from scratch tuning a 2004 STI ROM, I'd start with a ROM calibration that includes Subaru's ping fix, like the one at http://forums.openecu.org/viewtopic.php?t=530, not the oldest available ROM calibration.

Does it really matter as it has been retuned. "I" pulled this ROM off a car, not off the net. "I" just felt better starting with an orignal off of a car. So far there have been no ping problems on either of the 2 cars running the ROM on east coast 93octane.
Although it has only been a couple 2 days.
That is why I wanted someone else to test it before I post it.

The ping fix seems to just be code that pulls timing in that range. So it should be something that can be tuned around. AFAIK Cobb doesn't pay much attention to new revisions with their maps, either.

Their method of hooking into to the code for realtime map support makes it painful for them to migrate to a new calibration ID after it's released. They, in general, only do that for a new model year. But I'm sure, when they gain access to a new calibration, they compare it with the old one.

Jon just for you I just pulled out 3* of timing from the AJ243 CAL. Then added my changes and the 3* to the DA B table and 2* to the DA A table. The raised the learning rate and lowwered the learning step. That way the car will start off slower and take more time to learn. I all so raised the knock learning RPM. Should be a much more ping resistant than even the 243 cal.

This should probably in the feature request forum, but since the subject seemed fitting.
Would anyone see it as handy if there was a feature to compare your staged map to a base map and save a difference file. That could be applied to a different revision MAP? IE: Export AFR, Timing, Boost.
This would allow someone to use their original rom and apply the changes while feeling more comfortable about using their original vehicle rom.

Chuck, I've thought about that but never really got around to it. Now that someone else has said something I may go ahead and do it. The filesize will probably end up being only maybe 50kb, too, which will make them easier to distribute.

Let me know when you have a nice Stage2 for the same car Something safe, I can tune to the ragged edge with my UTEC later, esp now with the latest firmware release
