I guess mine is toast, unless someone can give me a reason for it to be acting up...
I get a flatline reading 689...everyonce in a while it will jump around 2-3 times in a logging session.
So far my choices are,
1. Ran too rich and it cant get an accurate reading...(temporary, and unlikely)
2. Maybe the lines are shorted from getting the wires so hot(unlikely)
2. Its toast, and I should remove asap...
Open to opinions!

is this the stock EGT sensor in the uppipe?
if so, is your car stock?
if both are true, the car probably ran really hot from the CL/OL delay present in the 04/05 models. i saw temps in excess of 1700 degrees in the uppipe when my car was stock.
i'd recommend a flash which removes the delay. that should help you out. you EGT probe is probably toast. you might want to just remove it and replace it with a m10x1.25 bolt. if you are interested in what your egts are doing, you might want to try and external EGT gauge.
how many miles on the car?

The car is not stock, however it is/was the stock uppipe(gutted) and stock egt sensor. I never ran the car hard untill after reflashing to prevent the delay. I have a catless downpipe, and catless midpipe, with an exhaust cut out. The hottest the car has seen is 1499. It was working through a 1400 run last night, and then this morning the above results occured. I have roughly 18000 miles on the car. It looks like either way I'll be pursuing an external guage now, but I'd still like to know what really caused its failure. I'm going to be pulling it out in a few minutes as soon as everything cools down.
Thanks

Well after looking at it nothing appears to be physically wrong with it.. It has seen its share of high boost and I would like to think thats its ok. I dont really know of a good way to test it....

you could try measuring the resistence across it.

Mine fried after I gutted the up-pipe, probably about 500-1000 miles after. I just tossed in a 2.2k 1/2 watt resister and now its locked at 1274.

The stock EGT is worthless for anything other than what it was designed for, to prevent uppipe cat destruction. DO NOT USE IT FOR TUNING, period. Its in a bad position for tuning & the probe itself is not very accurate.

I say you have a point, the best way to measure a car's proper tuning condition is by the AFR, but neither you can forget a car's egt. By this i mean, I recently flashed my car with a stg I map, but I was getting very high egt's, and we had to solve the problem by moving the WG .5 turns to avoid being running so rich.

Measure was in F...... But while its not a GOOD tuning tool, its a decent indication of temperature... I generally add 150 to the temp for an approximation...
Sorry for the misspellings.. too many margaritas...
