I'm wondering whether the ecu interpolates between points on the maps or just uses the values at each point until it gets to the next one.

For example, given the attached map...
At 63% throttle and 2500 rpm, max wgdc is 80.1.
At 3000 rpm max wgdc is 67.2

So, does the ecu calculate intermediate values on the fly as revs go from 2500 to 3000, or does it just use 80.1 until it hits 3k rpms and then just immediately change to a max of 67.2?

It interpolates for points between cells, but not for those outside the table. That is, when you go over the max load, for example, it uses the last values in that column and does not do any kind of regression.

And I assume it is the same process for the other tables right?
