I'm new to this whole opensource thing (been using UTEC for a while now)...

does the datalogging software (RomRaider... ecuflash... whatever I use) display the AFR in lambda only, or does it display in ratios as well (or at least have the option to swap to ratios)?

You'll want to use the Logworks software, at least initially because this is what it's designed for. Logworks will let you display either Lambda or AFR, whichever you prefer.

Later, when you're more comfortable importing the serial data stream (Innovate calls their format MTS for Modular Tuning System) the same data is there and instructions for parsing it are available in their forums.
