Looking for feedback on this base map as I'm in the process of tuning to reach my target boost:
About this map: - conservative timing and fueling - conservative 17psi boost target (update: now 19psi) - maf scaling and injector flow/latency scaling done - Turbo dynamics continuous tables reduced for EWG and EBCS - All major tables scaled for increased engine load. - other random misc. tables changed
Setup + mods: - 2004 wrx with 2017 sti short block (hybrid 2.5 setup), thicker head gaskets, racing studs, no avcs - dark blue 560cc injectors - AEM 340 fuel pump - vf48 turbo - tial 38mm External Wastegate (13psi spring) - Grimmspeed EBCS - Dry filter cold air intake - Sti intercooler - CNT Equal length headers - high flow catted downpipe - Borla catback exhaust - Subaru legacy 5 speed transmission XD
Context - This car has been a daily driver for years, and plan to keep it that way. Never ending fun project. - This base map seems to be working well in terms of fueling/timing, not seeing any knock on this map. Boost seems to spool well, getting peak boost around 3400rpm.
Questions - I've heard that 18-19psi is around where i can make peak power with the vf48 due to the turbo's efficiency. How true is this? - Can i hold 18-19psi with the vf48 to redline? What's people's experience with pushing the vf48? - How can i adjust my tables to ensure my WGDC can increase/decrease fairly quickly? Is this a matter of my turbo dynamics tables needing adjustments? Or my initial/max wastegate duties?
Any help or feedback is appreciated! Use this rom at your own risk!
Changes/Issues v1.5.6 - Around 3400 to 3600 rpm i experience some overboosting to 18.4psi, followed by an over-correction by my turbo dynamics dropping boost to 16.5psi, which makes it take a long time for boost to reach back up to my targets. You'll notice in the log WGDC hits 16% @ 3400rpm followed by a correction down to 8% @3600rpm, and struggles to make it's way back up, being at ~11% @5100rpm - Attached a log v1.5.7 - Reverted some turbo dynamics changes, (from .25 of stock, to .5 of stock). Hoping to allow TD's to make faster adjustments - Updated Max WGDC table to target incremental increase from 12% to 16%, rather than a flat 16% to help prevent the overboost v1.6.0 - After experiencing a fuel cut I realized I needed to raise the boost fuel cut tables - I raised the target boost to 19psi tapering to redline, and played with wastegate duty tables to reach the target - Power seems good, making ~316wtq @4315rpm in 3rd (romraider dyno) - Raised maf CEL voltage limit to 4.9v

For anyone that downloaded the earlier versions, I'd recommend to download the latest v1.6.0, or else you'll hit an overboost fuel cut like I did. I've deleted the old versions from the post to prevent confusion
