Been lurking for the past week reading up everything I can find since I ordered my Tactrix cable(still stuck in MN because of weather). I have a new to me USDM 06 OBXT 5EAT that is soon going to be fitted with VF52, STI catless uppipe and Grimmspeed EBCS on stock fuel. I am not looking for big gains, just a safe reliable tune with decent spooling on California's questionable 91 octane gas. I spent most of my driving under 4000 rpm.

I have been looking at the various base maps here but don't see any available for the 5EAT with VF52. I was told I can't use tunes from a 5MT but I can copy maps and tables from it and adjust it for my 5EAT OBXT. My question is which tables and maps can I copy that is not manual transmission specific?

I am familiar with Megasquirt and tuning but this is a whole new universe to me. I would be willing to donate or pay to have a base map made to avoid down time.

Thanks

There's no reason why you couldn't use MT tunes for your AT. Just make sure that auto (AT) and manual transmission (MT) referenced tables have same values set in the rom.
As with any of roms available here you will likely not get a perfect match for your setup and adjustments will be needed. Start safely with WGDC tables zeroed in the rom and do lots of logging and incremental adjustments. There's abundance of info available on the forum regarding tuning AFR/boost/ignition/etc related things. If you don't want to invest time getting your feet wet with opensource Subaru tuning, there are plenty of people here that will do that for you for a fee or sometimes even get you something for free.

Thank you!! This is my first week of learning everything from scratch. Good to know MT tunes can be converted. I am used to Megasquirt but this is more hands on. My original idea was comparing the stock roms' differences between MT and AT, tag all the unique tables and transfer the rest. Is that what you are referring to with making sure the AT and MT reference tables have same values set in the rom?

Where can I find someone who can help start off with a safe map to avoid downtime once all the hardware are installed on the car? Currently I am delaying my installation until I learned enough to start tuning. I am totally new to this so please excuse my questions. I thought about posting my stock rom and then ask for help but wasn't sure if that is ok to do.

Thanks.

Stock map and ecu is the same for same year/model MT/AT. There are several pairs of tables in the rom though where just one is used according to ecu input - mt or at.

What I meant in prev post is to make sure the at variants of these tables are the same as mt variants when you take a modified rom from the internets. The person modifying the rom may have bothered to adjust only the variant he is running on his car.

I have put together a rom but I am not sure if I got it right. If you would take a look at it, it would be very much appreciated. It is posted here - viewtopic.php?f=26&t=15434

Thank you.
