Posting this and trying to tread water carefully as to not break rules:
You can swap the EEPROM chips from your factory ECU to the EJ20x ECU. That EEPROM contains data that is required for the immobilizer to work with the rest of the components.
This isn't defeating the immobilizer, but rather integrating it back into your new ECU, so you will still have all the functionality of an immobilizer, just paired up with your new ECU.
