So I've just finished reading (again) the $10 antilag trick on nasioc where they hacked the IAT sensor wire to trick the ECU into applying a timing so low it would spool the turbo from all the late combution.
Cutting my IAT wire isn't all that exciting to me. I shy away from mods that deface the cars.
SO now, I'm asking the romraider guys if it's possible to apply this method to create a launch/stall boosting mod for the roms:
IF brake is pressed and throttle is WOT, then apply timing to get -17 degrees total timing and spool until u release the brake pedal. Once pedal released the original timing mapping is applied.
I assume the ECU has access to the brake switch? If not, it must have for the e-Brake.
let me know how this sounds. There are 5EAT guys running big turbo who also suffer from 2.7s 60ft times!

is this for when taking off from stationary yeh not when moving - what about reducing the base idle timing above say 3000rpm to whatever negative value you want and see what that does for it?

Someone tried lowering the timing there but it was so slow moving out of the load cells
I do not know if i can run carberry? I'm a 32bit 2004 JDM Legacy GT

if its 32bit the no carberry.
I'm talking about the idle timing though not the base timing. Idle timing is what you hit when not moving some ECU's have a range of settings you can adjust, some have only 4 or 5 cells. If you have a big enough range you could set more aggressive figures in higher stationary RPM's to get a little gain.

This should be a a very simple thing to do in the merpmod.

you can run it in MAF mode so not running speed density I can't see a free merpmod patch for your rom A2ZJC00G - there is a listing for A2ZJD02G but you would have to check if that rom is compatible with your ECU/car as I don't know off the top of my head. If you were able to switch to A2ZJC00G (copy posted here: http://www.romraider.com/forum/topic699.html ) then you could apply merpmod and enable launch control stuph and play with it (but keep it in MAF mode instead of SD mode).

What's an easy/safe way to check for compatibility?
edit: could i just flash the rom and assume if it went through it's compatible? could it spoil the ECU and brick it?

test write should confirm if the rom will load OK for you. Worst case it won't start so just flash your old rom back.
