Hi all,

I'm thinking about buying the new AEM 30-0333 which includes an OBDII piggyback for logging. It's confirmed to work with HPTuners/VCM but I'm wondering if it will work out of the box with RR Logger. Is anyone using this model that can confirm? I'd assume the AEM UEGO plugin might (not) be compatible?

Thanks in advance

Anyone?

Well, in any case AEM recently came out with an OBDII integrated version of the UEGO. I bought one and will see what can be done once my Tactrix arrives.

you can repurpose the 0-5v line to pin 8 on the OBD port, add a microSD card to the tactrix, and set it up to standalone log using ADM for the wideband. the problem here is the data rate it polls data from is much lower than 'fast polling' on a laptop using a cable to the tactrix and romraider logger.

or

run the 0-5v line to an unused sensor harness on the engine bay. if speed density, the MAF voltage line can be used, but mostly people go for the rear 02 or TGV left/right. one of these options combined with modifying the logger definition to read AFR instead of volts for whichever sensor, and bam. fast polling.

or

since it has R232 compatibility, you can get that wired into a DB9 connector and hook it up to your laptop if your laptop has a 9 pin serial port, or get the DB9 to USB converter cable online - this is needed if you want to reprogram the output curve of the signal or diagnostic test with the aem software

Edit: dschultz confirmed the UEGO piggyback in model 30-0333 won't work out-of-the-box, but with the protocol data from AEM the plugin may be able to be updated so that it will.

See this thread if interested.

In the meantime I hooked up the rs-232 lead using a custom db9 connector harness and a serial>usb cable. 9600 baud though... would be really nice to get fast polling via the ECU but I haven't/will not do the TGV delete and not interested in removing the rear O2 sensor/config from my e-tune.

Hopefully the OBD2 method will get a spark of life...
