CAL ID vs ECU ID

Hey guys,

Quick question as I am trying to wrap my head around this. Is the CAL ID essentially the "firmware" version of the ECU while the ECU ID is the "serial number"?

Why I am asking is I have an ECU (CAL: E2VL002D ECU: 4212047006) that I cannot seem to open in RomRaider.

Would I be able to flash it with the "2006 USDM Subaru Forester 2.5 MT/AT E2VG211D 4212047006 Rom" from here: http://www.romraider.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=7591?

I attached my ECU file.

Yes, that's correct. The ECU ID is related to the hardware version, the CAL ID is related to the software version.
