Sorry, bit of a rudimentary question but I'm not a Windows user usually: I'm trying to look at base maps from the Subaru forum section. Loaded up Romraider and have found a .HEX file for a car with same engine (2009 Tribeca; mine a 2008 for transplant into my camper and I don't have the ECU) which has everything I need to tune except the valve timing tables.

I've tracked down other base maps for cars with that engine but they are all .BIN files and won't open for me. Any way to easily solve this? Thanks in advance....

RR will open either format if you have a definition for it.

Thanks dschultz, I thought I'd given the program the definition files available...did I miss one which has the correct definition file? Do you know where to find it or what it's called?

I found one for the program and one for the logger (which I likely won't be using but downloaded anyway.

There's a generic ecu_defs.xml file which covers many ECU IDs, but not all. You may have to add ECU specific defs if you get a def not found message.

Thanks, I'll try that. I thought maybe I had downloaded the 64 bit JAVAscript instead of the 32 bit but I have the 32 bit. When I looked at the action logs, it said all the .bin files were faulty and could not be read. Tried again with several .bin files and same thing came up. I'm wondering if my JAVA is the problem. I'll try re-installing it and see if that helps...
