As long as you can find a way to get an image off the car, we can add support for it... but that's the hard part. :\

thanks for the reply,

my issue then is do the tactrix cables work with these vehicles, i have all the software but am unable to explicitly find somewhere that says the model and cable compatibility.

Also, do you know if ECU flash works with this model, if so i can do the ground work to try and pull an image off for reference, where by a definition could be made.

As far as I know, the Tactrix cable should work for reflash also, as I have no problems logging.

There are some images posted over at openecu.org, so xml-definitions should be doable today, but I dont know if they are complete. ie have the 'bootloaders'..
but, we need a open tool to read and write images.
I started on a tool to disasemble the m32r cpus. ( but progress is slow as I have too many balls up in the air..)
..the idea is to disassemble and share the comments and definitions to spread the load on people. The JECS ECU seems to be similar enough across most of the Subaru MY99-00 models.

uh, I hope this make sense..

I just downloaded the images someone uploaded at openecu.org.
(Register and search for JECS)
They are in the middle of an long thread 'JECS rom download'
..or I can PM them. ..but please read that thread as there is much information..

So far ive been stumbling with the M32 instruction set, and now have the basic diassembly ready.
Still missing is a configuration scheme for table definitions.
I was hoping I could use the same definitions as RomRaider, ..

And I need to come up with a way to export/import comments so they can be shared..
Im writing the disassembler in python. If someone are interested please contact me.

And we need someone with the tools and skills to read and flash the ECUs thru the back door.
Also we need a compiler for M32.. (can gcc do the job?)
..and someone with the skills and time to write the reflash kernel.

The best way to get all these things done is to do it in a REAL open source way..

Others have found many of the tables in the ROMs, and I belive Scott.T are working on them right now.
