RomRaider

Hi I am really new at using RomRaider, i have downloaded the latest s/w for Romraider and it is asking me for my car defenitons. My car is a WRX2003 EDM and i cannot get it to connect to Romraider. It has read the comport with no problems but the error Car_Defenitons keeps coming up. where can i find the defentions from for my WRX?? The cable that i am using is a 1.3. This cable was used for Evoscan and i was told that it works with WRX. Like i said the cable must be working cause it is reading the com port. I have tried with the Egnition on and also tried with the car started aswell.

Plug your Tactrix into your OBDII port with romraider open and it will bring up an ECU# down at the bottom of the window. Search for that here on the forums and it should get you your ECU definitions. Place those defs in any folder you choose and in the RR interface, choose the location of the definition file.

hi again, i have plugged in the cable to the car and its not bringing up the ECU number. it is finding the comport on my laptop and it is also identifying the type of cable i am using. i have also tried it with ECU Flash and still at the bottom right corner it says ID unknown.


what do u think i am doing wrong pls?

You may actually have an undefined ROM. Are you able to save the ROM file and post it up here using the attach file button?

can you guide me pls, do i have to connect the green connectors or not?? cause it is not reading nor from ECU exlorer nor Rom raider so i cannot upload any files to my computer.

Use EcuFlash to fetch the ROM.

Ecuflash: http://www.tactrix.com/downloads/ecufla ... n_beta.exe and install the program

You will also need: http://www.romraider.com/forum/download ... p?id=13643 and save this file into the EcuFlash install directory..\EcuFlash\rommetadata\subaru\Bases folder and copy the new files over the top of the old file.

Connect the green connectors
Open EcuFlash
Click the Read from Ecu button
Choose the car type based on the menu selctions and then click OK
A box will pop up asking to confirm the green connectors are joined

Turn the ignition to the ON position and quickly press the OK key to confirm download of the stock ROM

I think the OP is talking about trying to use romraider itself and overlooked the fact that you need to download two other files as well...

he needs to download the ecudef.xml file and logger.xml and place those into the rr main directory.
