cobb lightweight crank pulley short ram intake throttle body spacer. intake manifold/ head spacers obx equal length headers 2.25''back high flow cat no cel. cel still functional
timing tables running the stock tune as i feel the are fine , maf scaling done with the stock sensor and im within 5% +or -(waiting for lc-1) open loop / closed loop delay disabled .
primary fuel maps custom tune, in low rpms low load like highway cruising , cells are at 14.7/1 for fuel economy , but after 3200 ish it really richens up , most of it is in the 12-13.8 range for max power . higher rpm high loads are richer.
some small drive by wire mods too , just preferance. and other little stuff .

Thanks for this. Took a look at it -- confirms what I've been noticing on my car (05 RS, cams, OBX header)now that I've started logging, which is that above 0.7 load, one either has to pull timing or start richening the mixture significantly, regardless of rpm.

You're throwing away torque and efficiency by going richer on the top end.

CL to OL Delay A/B (Atmospheric Pressure) are both zeroed, which is all that's required to eliminate the delay on the 32bit ECUs.

I probably couldn't be posting this in a more worse area, but I don't suppose anyone has any maps for the older Impreza RS's (2005) and 2008 Impreza, both NA obviously...? Where should I start looking? Trying to tune my friend's cars.... they're the non-turbo-folk

would it be possible for you to post your stock hex?

I would also like a stock rom from the 07 USDM if anyone has it. (id take an 06 or 05, too)
I just lost the harddrive all my tuning tools and files were on, so im starting from scratch. like to have a stock rom to reference too and be able to go to in an emergency, etc.

Well my mom decided to go out and buy a 06 2.5i today so I decided I'd dump the factory rom to share with everyone

do you guys have any datalogs of how these things actually run? mainly interested in total timing vs load and airflow. would love to see some EJ253 datalogs! i have a built one and i see 1.6+ G/rev(with IAT at 110-120F! my airbox isn't done), so i mean, i'm way off the stock maps, but seeing the progression of total timing on a running engine from ~2k on up would be helpful. i think. right now i'm running what i think is a little conservative total ignition advance ~20from ~5k(1.6g/rev @peak torque) to 6.5k and ~18 deg of timing at 1.5G/rev at ~7k and i think i'm seeing valve float, but knowing what a stockish engines run with total timing, i could extrapolate that, or see if i'm close. i used the timing maps from the stock read and the "ej253 tuned" but they ran pretty poorly, felt like way over advanced(this engine does not knock or ping, power just drops off, functional sensor and i know what to listen for)so i started from scratch. i can't use the maps directly as i'm running it with an 02WRX ECU.
i did do some bowl work and unshrouded the valves and smoothed out the combustion chamber, and also running a lot of dwell, ~5ms on my LS1 CNP ignition, which fully saturates the coils firing 0.045 gaps on iridium plugs. so.. that could be it? I dunno just seems like it should ping, making it hard to find MBT. AFRs at WOT are 12~12.5:1. it's very smooth, and despite having some grunt, being NA, still feels uh, well it's not my sti, that's for sure..
anyhow, any ideas are appreciated! thanks!

You're actually way the hell beyond what most people are doing with the EJ253.
Let me know what specific parameters you want logged and what test patterns you want run and I'll be glad to help.

yeah, only the rods, pistons and most of the sensors are stock.. and while the stock EJ253 maps are pretty horrific, almost 1d maps, like they weren't even trying, it would still be nice to see your: RPM MAF G/sec calculated G/rev throttle opening angle(not pedal angle) total timing AFR IAT tip in enrichment if there is any
assuming it's all warmed up before logs. maybe note if there's a stumble, a bog, or any drivability quirks.
mostly just want to see normal driving transitioning to moderate acceleration and a couple WOT runs. even in the same log would be great. i'm actually also having problems right at the edge of throttle, super light throttle coming in from OL/CL(15.4:1, no cat) occasionally does a stumble, so i'd like to see what stock runs to keep it smooth. if it is. haha, i've never driven a stock EJ253, but from looking at the maps it looks like engineered in lag. i really have no frame of reference though. only NA subaru i've driven otherwise is the phase1 2.2l that came before this. which was good enough for snow-x but that's about it. i built this for 220~240hp and from the numbers it's delivering, but still just not that impressed. there has to be more! maybe i'm just too jaded. once i get this pretty close and make some iterative timing and AFR maps ready to go, i'll hit the dyno. and then update the build thread.
thanks!
