Thanks to Bad Noodle for this great tool, I've used it extensively to scale OL.

I discovered something that will really only affect those tuning large turbos, but can result in a very dangerous leaning out at the very top end of the scale (if your values are too low), where you least need it. In the VBA code, in both data and scaling, the sorting routine is only going up to a certain point in the MAF table, and not beyond - about 6 cells from the top. With most setups you are not likely to hit this limit (4.69V in my case) - but - if you do, the data is erroneously bunched up in the last cell, even if you are hitting higher MAF V values (up to 4.88v in my case, maybe its time for speed density...).

It can be fixed - right click on the worksheet tab, view code, and change the following:

Under 'data' change For i = 2 To 49, to For i = 2 To 56
Make the same change under 'smoothing' to allow smoothing up to the top cells.

Just a heads up.

This might be an issue with later model ROMs with more columns in the scale. My '08 WRX ROM has 54 columns and in the smoothing tabs it does just what you describe... all the error bunches up in the last cell and skews the whole curve. Changing the VBcode made no difference so I just used the rough corrections and smoothed them manually.

CN: If there's a big difference between the corrections suggested in the rough and smoothed graphs, ask yourself why.

Props to Bad Noodle of course for making this tool in the first place! 8)

I think the spreadsheets were actually updated a couple of months back to deal with this issue, and the additional volume of data that CAN and fast-poll presents.

I actually moved across to the Matlab scripts some time back, now I need to reversion them for speed density :)

Hi all.

I have just started using this and have done 2 rounds of 3 3rd gear pulls. I have a question.

In the smoothing tab, the top graph adjusted maf scaling has some serious peaks, the bottom graph looks great though. Now I have read not to go nuts with the smoothing buttons. Should I be doing all I can to smooth the top graph or do I take it as it is and trust it'll act like the bottom graph?

[quote="JustinH"]Hi all.

I have just started using this and have done 2 rounds of 3 3rd gear pulls. I have a question.

The built in RomRaider MAF scaling tool is only used for CL(closed loop) scaling. Not WOT. In fact, it stops recording/plotting when CL fueling is not being used, which would occur in a WOT pull. So yes, if you revd out & got some boost, you'll have hella peaks & valleys using that tool & the info isnt accurate to scale your CL table to.

***There are other tools useful for OL (Open Loop) scaling. As mentioned above, badnoodle has a 'program' & dang whats the other popular one.. Airboys spreadsheet also. If you are speaking of these programs & OL scaling, then my bad. Just know you wont get good results for OL(WOT) using RR built in MAF tool.

Goodluck
