I have a release candidate ready for a new version of Learning View. Try it out and let me know if there are any issues:

Thanks!

My car is as follows:
2005 Saabaru 2.0T Wagon. (Subaru WRX wagon) 5MT

I just put a new engine in the car, and I've been driving around quite a bit with it. Oil levels are right on the full area.

I was throwing a code for the rear o2 sensor because at present it is NOT plugged in. I saw the "reset ECU button" within Learning View 1.0 RC3 while the car was running. (just wanted to see it clear the code)
I hit the button, cycled the key as leaningview told me to do; I turned the car back on and now the oil light is on. I tried various things, including taking off the negative battery terminal for 1/2 an hour, as well as reseating the oil pressure switch (the connector just to the left below the alternator) , but it still lights up.

I'm sure this could be coincidence but the car runs just fine and the only correlation here was resetting the ecu with learningview.....

Any thoughts?

I believe the oil light is not tied into the ECU at all, it is merely a light controlled by the pressure switch. I would try a new oil pressure switch if it persists and your engine is actually running  . If there is some water/coolant/oil on the top of the pressure switch it can cause the light to come on faintly becuase there is some electrical conduction through the fluid to the grounded engine block.

Indeed @ all points.
I am at present having someone pick up a mechanical oil pressure gauge and adapter, just so we can at least read the pressure and figure out just what exactly is going on. I am also mapping out gauges to install in the car (oil pressure being a big one). Sucks when you can't really trust the stock in place setup to know EXACTLY what is going on with your car.

Also having him pickup a new oil pressure switch..... will post results probably later tonight.

That "oil pressure" light is useless. Your engine would already be junk by the time you see that come on. The oil pressure light doesn't come on until there is less than 3 psi of oil pressure.

I highly recommend oil pressure gauges to all subaru owners I see looking to install gauges. If you get a low profile sending unit you can install it at the stock oil pressure switch location or by the plugged off location near the turbo.

Good luck.

Thanks for getting this going again. It's nice to be able to monitor this again.

This ended up being a stuck relief valve on my 11mm oil pump. :? Just got done replacing the oil pump.
I ordered / installed a prosport halo oil pressure gauge from MAP performance in Minneapolis. Gonna set the warning to about 15 psi.

Learning view is workin great for my car though :)

Hi, i recently found the romraider gold mine, and have started by downloading the learning view from my 2006 edm 2.5 wrx. This is a stock engine, and I am seeing high negative AF values taken with just the ignition on. My understanding is that the ecu thinks the AF is to rich so is leaning it out. Is this something I should worry about, and what would cause it?

CAL ID:A8DH200Y
Description: 06 EDM Impreza WRX MT
ECU ID:XXXXXXXXX

can any one help me?

just done another learner view.

A/F Learning #1:
0 - <5.60 5.60 - <10.00 10.00 - <40.00 40.00+
-13.1 -11.6 -8.7 -5.4

What could be causing these high negative values? Is this normal? Looking at the rom a CEL is triggered at -15.

I imagine there's no response here because your question is answered in the forums.

For whatever reason, mechanical or environmental, your MAF scaling is off. If you haven't changed anything and you're not at a high elevation, you may want to check for causes of restricted airflow (very dirty air filter).

Discussion on using Learning View and RomRaider MAF scaling tool links:
