I did a few WOT runs in my 07 FXT with the RR Dyno hookep up. I have a moderate stage 1 tune (software only) and the figures came back as 162 kW (that should be around 220HP). The car certainly doesn't feel like it has only 162kW. I chose the appropriate profile and set the delta weight accordingly. The car is supposed to make 168kW/230HP stock.

Was I seeing BHP, or WHP? My previous car made the same figures at the crank (BHP) and it felt just as strong, but it weighed about 20% less.

I'm using the very latest version of RomRaider. Downloaded it just last night.

its usually wheel power quoted from it, but the manufacturer quote will be engine output. If the car is making 230hp stock then expect it to dyno around 190 or so. If your recording 220 now with the mods then your up a good bit from stock.

Thanks. I'll probably have to put it on a dyno. I'm running it on a peak 0.9bar of boost (TD04) on 95RON (91 Octane) fuel, so I don't think a ~22kW gain is realistic with only software. But thanks for answering my actual question.

did you take the car to a dyno before hand to see what the original output was? Same with the romraider logger if you have a before and after dyno you'll see the difference.

Of course I didn't

I'll reflash the stock ROM, do a few pulls, then put the "stage 1" ROM back and compare. Though I don't know how much the car made when I got it because it felt sluggish and I had the headgaskets + everything else I could think of replaced, so it's a whole lot of unknowns. But I get that comparing before and after will at least show me how much I've gained from the update.

Just to be clear, the RR Dyno tool is only an estimate of WHP/TQ as many environmental factors affect the results. It's best used as a tuning tool when used under the same environmental conditions to compare tuning change results.

Understood. It goes without saying that it's not going to be 100% accurate unless the road is perfectly flat and the temperature is the same every time. At least now I know what's measured.

Easier to see the % gains on a Stage 1 tune. Log stock, then log tuned.
