Hi,
Do anybody know how to log data to micro SD card via OpenPort2.0 cable? I try to use it without laptop connection but it only produce a file "logcfg.out" on my micro SD. Any idea how to use it? Or I should input any software command into the file.
Thanks and Regards, Sega

I haven't messed with it at all yet, but try here: http://forums.openecu.org/viewforum.php?f=57

I dont understand the scaling with this... I mean I understand the revers polish notation and I could make calculations with it... I dont get how to scale... I mean how do we now how to change the raw ecu data? I get how we would subtract our atmospheric pressure from manifold pressure to get calculated boost... But why would we need to calculate for rpm? I mean where do I find what I need to calculate for and how to calculate for it?

Look in your logging definitions file (logger.xml). Example: Code: <parameter id="P8" name="Engine Speed" desc="" ecubyteindex="8" ecubit="0"> <address length="2">0x00000E</address> <conversions> <conversion units="rpm" expr="x/4" format="0" /> </conversions> </parameter> See the conversion part? Convert to RPN. Does that help?

Right but where do we get the conversion units from? IE I dont know what the raw ecu data is in order to convert for it... Like what would the conversion equation be for say engine load and base timing? With total timing I would think it would be a formula made from base plus or minus the ECU's other perameters. But then wouldnt you have to log the other periameters to make the conversion? And then wouldn't that slow down your record rate?
I guess im looking at this like writing a script... But with out knowing what the conversion factors should be how do we wright the formula to get the proper data spit onto the cvs file? Im just a little confused on the reverse polish code... IE why are we doing that?

I have something that already generates config files. Are you interested in helping me test it so I can release it?

Step 1. Did you update the firmware on your OP2? http://forums.openecu.org/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=4319Code: Here is how to install and use this beta:
* Download and install http://www.tactrix.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=44&Itemid=65 (this is the official beta download page from here on) * Run EcuFlash and do a Help|Licensing operation. This will cause a firmware update to 1.10.xxxx, which has the logging support. * If you go to the C:\Program Files\OpenECU\EcuFlash\samples\logging directory you will see some example logging configuration files. These are text files you can open in a text editor and read. * Copy the appropriate text file to your microSD card and rename it logcfg.txt. Make sure your text editor does not end up writing the file as logcfg.txt.txt. * Disconnect the OP2 from your PC and plug it in to your car and go for a drive. * Come back and connect your OP2 to the PC and examine the CSV files.

Yep, Firmware updated, I have tried manually creating a logcfg.txt file and using the utility to create one, all that ever happens is a logcfg.out file is created with headers (ie. the parameter headers I was trying to log but no data) but it's not in CSV format and contains no actual data. I would loooove to get this working.

Be warned that if you use the latest SD logging beta on openecu it will stop you being able to use Romraider logging.

In the log file creator utility, make sure you tick the box for K-line communication at the top. If you choose CANbus you will get no logs created.
I have a card installed and can log to it when RR is not running. With RR logger running and connected, it logs as normal and nothing goes to the card. I would imagine that is as Colby intended.
