For an 02 its as simple as a toggle switch and 2 wires with some spade connectors. The 03 and up has a different style flash block so I might make another option to use the ac switch or something for those guys unless someone else has a better idea.

This is all making more and more sense, I checked out the original copy of the groupn rom and the base timing A table has just a hair less timing through the midrange and the B table (which has more timing in the midrange) is the group n table... I think I may have to get a set of grey coil packs... In the stock 04 wrx rom it runs alot more dwell in certian spots compared to the 02 03 huh? Yep toggle switch with a little flip cover for me.... Who the hell needs a standalone we have Andy and Jerod ! Also does this mean we have 2 fuel maps too? groupn conditions met groupn conditions not met?

Find a CEL fix and I will bow down before you.

The gray coil packs just plug in to 02-03 right? They looked the same on the last 04-05 I worked on. I'm not giving up the extra dwell. Mine runs better with it. I can even hear a difference in how it sounds out the exhaust with extra dwell. I'll be the crash test dummy with the black ones and see how long they last with increased dwell, if they blow up I'll get the gray, somebody local has a set from an '04 for sale.

  Mine runs excellent with the extra dwell and E85... I wanna decrease the dwell a bit and see if I can have the same results or I am getting the grays too...

Did you notice a change in the exhaust note with more dwell? Mine sounds different. Another thing is that it almost never afterfires running SD.

I have not noticed the change in tone but I was switching back and forth from maf to sd lol...Also havn't run the car since the begining of november...Its stored in the garage until spring now, But I can say my car was never dieing anymore when I would press the clutch in coming up to a light ect, on maf based it seemed to do it everyonce in a while...

Coil packs depend on if they came off 2.5 or 2.0. You need 2.0 "boots" but grey coil packs go right on.

Yes I have noticed almost no after fires on the SD rom vs ALL the time on the Maf rom.

I'm still not sold on the latency thing - until we can test it via O-Scope I can't guarantee it is what it is.

Yea - We are assuming by values and location and its function that it is dwell - however - until someone literally tests dwell or I can get my hands on an O-Scope this cannot be confirmed.

The fuel maps have already been defined and are able to be edited with the current release of the official ecu_defs. They are dependent on whether Group_N mode is active or not. If we get this switch working, then you will be able to enable and disable Group-N mode as you please without re-flashing to change the mode byte.
