I wish I didn't sell my turbo and kit I would try and help with ghe testing ... The only thing we aren't going to have really that a standalone does is the real time tuning.... What would it take to get the real time tuning figured out? I have alot of time on my hands as my car is down for the whole winter and I basically have no life outside Subaru ( I sit on nasioc ect for about 4 1/2 hrs a night   ) maybe if I reallocated my time I could help out and we could get a little reverse engineering tag team action going ... Just a thought....I would give alot for some type of real time tuning action....

That's it!? :) My girlfriend threatens to leave me all the time because I spend all day and night on my computer, haha!

You should read up on the real time tuning, topic3881.html and topic1136.html however it seems that the idea has sort of died. It would be a huge task, and I certainly don't have enough experience to be able to pull it off. Not yet at least. I think the biggest issue(aside from the actual coding) would be the space limitations in the 16bit ROMs. We would also need a java developer willing to devote time to it to incorporate it into RR or someone to create a completely new program to do it. I don't have any programming skills so I have no idea what it would take to do this, but I imagine it would be quite a bit.

Have you ever opened a ROM up in IDA Pro? If you're serious about trying to figure the RT tuning out you should do so. Check out these threads for some help: http://forums.openecu.org/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=4362 and topic5543.html

Ok cool I will check it out, Others have done it with the 16 bit ecu  right? ...I am checking that ^ out now.

http://www.hex-rays.com/idapro/

not sure if the trial version will work, and the Standard and Advanced versions are pretty expensive...

Related to the CEL issue, I looked at Jarod's ram dump and the ROM he had flashed at the time it was done (to make sure they were disabled in the traditional manner). The specific DTCs P1307/P1309 are a special case in which the traditional fix will not work. I think I can come up with a fix for it. What I need to know is if others are having issues disabling the same DTCs and whether or not there are additional DTCs you also have a problem with.

I'm planning on doing one last bug fix to the ECU defs before or a little after I get hired on a Cobb permanently (assuming I do). Sort of my last contribution to OS. It won't include any new development as it really wouldn't be appropriate for me to do so given that is what I'm doing at Cobb, but I hope to fix this CEL issue for group N, some minor bugs with other ROMs, some inadvertently missing tables (specifically AVCS tables for some H6 models), etc. before I'm gone. I'll still be checking out the forums from time to time and if there are any major bugs in the ECU defs, I'll look into those. But, it is good to see that guys like Andy and Jerod (and hopefully others) are taking over the ECU discovery process of OS.

I am having the same problem with 1307/1309. They are disabled in the normal manner but still set. That is the only problem I am having.

There's not much to say - there's no easy way of doing it. The hard part is developing the software (or augmenting existing software) to support it, not the selection of specific RT logic.

Would it be possible to add group n rom support to learning view before you go to work for cobb? I don't know how much work that would involve for you. Good luck with the new job, I'm sure it will be nice to get paid for doing this work!

Already planned on it - all ROMs submitted so far will be supported in the next update of LV.

Andy and Jerod found an error in the current Group N defs. The A/F learning airflow ranges are actually based in MAP, not airflow, which something I did not double check when doing the defs. I'll be fixing this in the bug update to the official defs. Nice catch Andy/Jerod!

excellent news, will you be adding Andy and Jerod's LC/AL toggle, Load Idle table defs as well? Thanks.

LC toggle is on hold for the moment I believe.

After running with LC set for a few days I noticed, what I THINK, the FBKC is disabled when LC is "enabled" or set.

I could not get my car to knock when LC was set, but after disabling it, was able to force a bit of knock. I think Andy did or is looking into it. I do believe the logic says nothing about FBKC being disabled, but again something I noticed when it was set.
