Hey guys, we've been working on the Group-N ROM quite a bit lately and we have found some new stuff that might be useful. I'm posting a small .xml file that will be continually updated as we find more. You have two options with this .xml file. You can either copy paste the info in it into your own ecu_defs.xml file, or you an save it in the same directory and add it using the definitions manager. If you chose the second option, you'll need to move it to the top of the list before loading the ROM. You will only be able to edit the new stuff when you do this. Once you've made your changes, you'll need to save the file, close it, go back to the definitions manager and move the ecu_defs.xml file back up and re-open the file. The changes you made will be saved though you won't be able to view them. As always, use at your own risk, I am not responsible for anything that might happen to you, your car, any part of your car, or your computer. Be sure to thank JSarv for his countless hours of logging these things to make sure they work. He also needs new tires now that LC is working. For reference, here is the stock dwell settings from an 04 WRX which uses the GREY coilpacks: Attachment:

And the stock settings from an 02 WRX which uses the BLACK coilpacks: Attachment:

Nice work. Thanks for putting in the time on this. Do you think you can find a fix for the CEL?

I'm still learning and every time I think I have something figured out I get excited and start working more on that. I will dedicate some time this coming week to the CEL though. It's strange that the usual fix doesn't take care of it, is it that way on everybody's car? Personally, I can't run this ROM so I'm relying on you guys for input. Things you want fixed or want to be able to tune, post them up and I'll look into them. Andy

Thanks for all your work, its good to see someone picking up the mantle from merchgod.
Also thanks JSarv for risking your ECU and car testing for the rest of us.

I know the CEL's are next on the list - I'm a little tired of staring at mine - but currently not the biggest of my worries.
LC works like a champ - I found it IS a bit more of a violent LC than tinyrex patch.
I'd like to get the ISCV and timing figured out before the cel's personally.

I had originally hoped to figure out how to switch the AL on and off, but with the settings maxwell power posted on nasioc, that's not an issue anymore. I'm not having any problems with idle or timing. Both are working fine for me. I just can't stand staring at the cel all the time. I almost pulled the bulb out the other day.

Switching the AL by other means is very very possible. I have an idea of how to do it just haven't had a chance to discuss it with Andy yet.
Also removing the CEL may end up being a permanent CEL removal..

Do we know if the grp N mode bytes are correct? Could they be changed to a check box(s)? Push-button ALS would be nice as well.
Thanks for your work.

Thanks for your work. The mode bytes are correct. 0 = Per gears comps ENABLED, AL/LC DISABLED(LC can be enabled using the checkbox with this setting) 8 = Per gears comps ENABLED, AL/LC ENABLED(LC check box not needed with this setting) The other settings haven't been worked through yet, once I figure it out, I'll update you guys on it. The check box really wouldn't work as it would just make things more complicated. I'm working on an easy way to enable AL at will as well. Something that has been discussed but not in great detail is the fact that with this ROM(and perhaps others, I haven't checked) is the ability to run 2 different base timing maps. If you have a flash block connected you will use "Base Timing B" and with it disconnected you will use "Base Timing A". This could be easily switchable via a switch on the dashboard for those of you that would like to have the ability to run 2 different timing maps without re-flashing. Andy

Andy Very cool, I have been thinking Damn I wonder how many different mode byte setting are there...? An easy way to enable the anti lag would be sick, you dont always need it coming on when your doing pulls ect, but everyone know at least one car in their area that they are going to need the anti lag switched on to keep up! ... I really think that dual base timing map thing by just pulling the flash block is convenient too ... This has really been moving along

My mistake. 0 = Per gears comps ENABLED, AL/LC DISABLED(LC can be enabled using the checkbox with this setting) 8 = Per gears comps ENABLED, AL/LC ENABLED(LC check box not needed with this setting) 128 = Per gear comps DISABLED, AL/LC DISABLED(LC can be enabled using the checkbox with this setting) 136 = Per gear comps DISABLED, AL/LC ENABLED(LC check box not needed with this setting) Andy

Cool I have taken note good to know! How exactly to the per gear boost compensations work? How much does it take away add? Jerod would we be able to use the per gear comps with our halman+gm bcs combo boost control setups?

The per gear stuff is already defined and can be changed in your ROM in RR. Basically it's just like any other compensation, it adds whatever you set it up to add based on which gear you're in. Andy

Oh I get it now it starts with your target boost and compensates % wise off of that...I was just wondering because I run my Wgdc at 100% at wot bc I have a halman mbc and a gm bcs paired together, Jerod has the same boost control...
