Hello everyone!
I'm new to the forums and I am looking for help specifically with the Merpmod patch. I have a buddy with a 2009 wrx that has an IAT sensor wired up already and has the MAF eliminated. I have successfully applied the Merpmod patch to his rom and confirmed that it is successfully working in ecuflash. The problem that I am having is that the car will start with the MAF unplugged like its running on the fail safe. In ecuflash I have enabled the speed density option under "Speed density mode" and it has made no change. If I plug the MAF sensor in or disable the code P0102 the car will fire instantly run for a second then shut off. I can not figure out why the car wont switch to running off the VE table. I will attach the base ROM to see if anyone can have any incite to my problem. We are just trying to get the car to idle so we can build the VE Table since we don't have a MAF intake anymore (due to boostlab 6262 turbo). Any and all help is appreciated thank you!

We had a similar issue,
We removed the MAF, deleted the codes and after setting the SD Constant a fair amout higher then the base, it idles but after awhile the idle hunts and wont come out of that loop. the SD constant will depend on your setup but you need to adjust there to get Idle, once there then you can move to the VE table.
I'm interested to know if anyone else had the hunting idle issue.
