Hi there,

I just registered to this Forum and I would like to introduce myself. Please, let me know if there's a specific topic for new members where to do so since I did not find anything about that.

First, I'm a French Canadian so my main language is not English but I do understand it 100%.

I don't know much about tuning but I'm motivated to learn and I'm currently trying my best to get a good understanding about it and everything that it involves. I'm not a mechanic but I know the basics of it and more. I can do a lot myself but when I'm not confident I ask for help/pay someone competent to do it. I'm a 30 years old truck driver and I've been on the road for 10 years now.

I just bought a Subaru Legacy GT 2008 5 speed manual transmission with several modifications done to it by the previous owner. This is my first modified car but not my first Subaru. This ain't my daily driver and I am aware that I bought a used modified car with a stock tune. The previous owner never tuned the car and like I said it has been modified. I've only paid 3000 CAD for the Legacy so I did not expect much from it. I know it has a few issues and I took that opportunity to learn about modifications and tuning when buying that car. My plan is to get it in better shape, tune the ECU for the first time and we will then see what's next for it after that.

I've already done general maintenance to the car such as an oil change, new air filter, MAF and TB cleaning and replaced some parts. Next week, I have an appointment to a Subaru Tech close to my area who has been working on Subaru vehicles for a long time. They specialize in Subaru and they do tuning. I want to get a better idea of the car health, what should be fixed/replaced, better understanding of the current modifications done to it and diagnose a problem that it has about gas smell and such.

I'm here to learn more about tuning and Romraider. And I would like to ask questions if necessary when I can't get an answer somewhere else.

If anyone is interested, I can put a list of the modifications done to the LGT08 and share some pictures. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you.
