It is when the ecu senses issues which could potentially banjax the engine and switches to a mode which will run failsafes in fueling etc.

So when this happens, IAM=0 right? So what are these things that makes ecu decide to do this?

I think most maps revert to 4 or less.

I am noticing some pinging and see feedback knock correction retarding timing during this time, but the knock signal is not set in RomRaider logger. Can you explain this? Is it simply happening quicker than the logger can log it?

Example:
Time 114107
Coolant Coolant Temperature (F) 178
Engine Load (Calculated) (g/rev) 1.26
Engine Speed (rpm) 3298
Feedback Knock Correction (4-byte)* (degrees) -5
Knocking Signal #1 (On/Off) 0




I have 56 instances of this on a short drive, and only once was the knock signal set to 1.

knock signal polling/logging is too slow.
