I'm trying to set this stuff up on a new laptop, and it looks like kpitgnutools.com is offline. I found an old copy of their GNU SH4 tools installer, but it's asking for a registration code and of course you have to go to kpitguntools.com to get a code, so I still can't install it.
Hopefully that's just temporary. But just in case, I encourage everyone who has downloaded the KPIT GNU tools and HEW to back up your installers and activation codes. And I'm hoping I can get the activation code off of my old computer because it might be a pain to come up with a new toolchain to build ECU patches.

You can still download the tools here... https://gcc-renesas.com/sh/download-latest-toolchains/...but the installer still demands an activation code from kpitgnutools.com. However it turns out that the activation codes are available at the new site: https://gcc-renesas.com/help/faq/I shouldn't complain, because the tools are free, but... damn.

Thanks for the bump, NSFW! I finally have HEW and the GNUSH toolchain installed (couldn't be bothered to look harder for it before/actually register on the websites to get keys since I figured they'd verify my information).
My goal is to figure out colby's old CAN logging patch for select ECUs and find a way to port that, or something similar, to other ECUs (namely, my 07 LGT specB A2UI001L ROM). Having a simulator to play with will surely be useful.

you can use this tool to patch your rom & find some tables ... it was a thread about it here somewhere but I can't find it ...

i am attempting to setup up a new laptop with HEW, but couldn't find a download on the Renesas site. The closest I found was the C/C++ compiler package for SuperH, but this is an evaluation download. Any suggestions?

dschultz arranged to host copies on RomRaider.com, so I've updated the first post with new links.
This is not the first time KPIT/Renesas have made the binaries hard to find, so having copies hosted here on RomRaider should make life easier for all of us. HEW hasn't been in active development for years, so it's not like we're going to miss any updates. I just hope they continue giving out activation codes.

Happy to host it on google drive if you like? I only have the c++ compiler as well.. this has been driving me nuts to get my rom patched with the latest merpmod
