You have it right. It just will be simpler to tune if you set up WOT to 512 Requested Torque. Also your current setup never quite meets full requested torque values.
Your way looks pretty and complicated but simpler is sometimes better, easier.

Thanks Eric. I just thought perhaps it would be good to enter lower values at the very low and high rpm cells as it may upset things in the higher gears. Yeah, probably just over-complicating things. How about my limit table... does it make sense to do the higher gears like that?

You can just leave it at 297. That way it uses the 297 Column for 4th and 5th gears at WOT. then any values between 297 and 512 in your requested torque max table will proportionately change your WGDC between the 297 and 512 wastegate duty columns.

OK, thanks. Guess I jumped to a few wrong conclusions about the relationship between the tables.

I got to use this table today on a 20g XT and got to increase spool in 3rd gear by almost 300 RPM. Also hit target boost in 2nd gear without issues and almost hit target in 1st.

Does it mean if spool is increased, peak torque comes in earlier as well?

Yes. Torque was certainly increased.
I do think moving to a 3 port solenoid is still going to be advantagous here as well. I rarely tune a car without a 3 port though.

I have my map set up to take advantage of avcs and boost to get my max torque at around 3900 to 4100 as per airboy. Spool up to target boost is at 3600 for my vf52. I tried shutting the wgdc for 2nd but it only gave me lower figures. Car also felt slower. I need to adjust my avcs to get more out of the turbo. But question in my mind is if its really going to get me more torque earlier.

Im still pondering how to use this new table to benefit an AT. Any ideas on how to execute?

Can you please look into the impreza mt edm, 08 and 09? (AZ1E400U and AZ1G400U) :-)
Im assuming they both have 1st and 2nd gear capped as well.

I think I mentioned that AZ1E400U doesn't have a cap on 1st or 2nd gear. The whole table is set at a value of 500. I don't have a copy of AZ1G400U to check.

I think there must be another 2D table somewhere with a maximum requested torque value in it. No matter what I enter into the new table, the highest requested torque I can reach in the logs is 500.

Anyway, this is no way affects the utility of these tables. Now I can bring spool forward about 100rpm in 3rd gear and 300rpm in 4th, without one affecting the other. Good work Eric!
