Hi @trcxsa. Is it 4AT or 5EAT?

That should be possible. The rough steps are:
1. Use FastECU (development version) to connect with and dump your TCU ROM. Success with this step should verify type of TCU (Hitachi / Denso) and comms method (KLine / CAN)
2. You can then use FastECU to make adjustments to line / brake / clutch pressures provided your TCU has these adjustments enabled
3. Do some reverse engineering to locate your shift curves / other parameters in your TCU ROM
4. Edit your TCU ROM and flash it to your TCU

Hmm not having much luck.

Tried using the unk 5EAT model when selecting a car. It just pops up with unknown flash method. Flashmethod not yet implemented.

I can download the ECU rom using the forester XT's 2.0AT Denso SH7055 sti04. But even with TCU selected at the top right, it just pulls the ECU rom.

Tried with both VAG-COM and Openport 2.0.

Im probably being an idiot, any pointers would be appreciated.

On the top right ECU/TCU checkboxes has no effect on reading/writing ECU or TCU, those were only meant to use for logging purposes (that is yet unfinished).

Hi @trcxsa, did you get the v0.28 from the development branch? Under precompiled - FastECU_TCU028.exe

Ahh ok cool, Figured that may be the case with the check boxes.

I pulled the latest development branch from https://github.com/miikasyvanen/fastecu ... evelopment and tried it with that.

If i go across to help>about, its listed as V0.3b.

It’s all in development, so the help>about won’t be reliable. There are lots of versions of the .exe in /precompiled. Which one are you using?

If you have compiled it yourself, then I’ll have to check the source code in the development branch… it may have in-flight edits that I was working on with SergArb.

Hmm, I may be downloading from the wrong repo then?

There is only one windows build listed under precompiled (FastECU-Windows) with only a single FastECU.exe listed.

https://github.com/miikasyvanen/fastecu ... recompiled - is this the correct spot?

No, this is the right one :-)

Thanks MiikaS, I didn’t look closely enough at the link. Yes, source from the rimwall development repo.

Looking back through the thread, it looks like jimihimisimi got v0.27 working, so you may want to use that one. I can’t remember what changes I made between v0.27 and v0.28…

Seems it wasn't successful. Have a bin file from it but its all 0's unfortunately.
I used the unk_5eat protocol.

FastECU_TCU27
32kb file size
flash method: sub_tcu_hitachi_can

Ive only tried with the VAG-COM, Will give it a shot with OpenPort2 tomorrow. Unfortunately didnt have much time for multiple attempts this evening.
Messages were sending but each returned "Page data request failed!"

What software should be used to reverse engineer tables and create a definition for it?

*Edit: Upon reading further back in the topic, I realized I havent setup FastECU correctly. Will retry it tomorrow.

So gave it another shot last night, Seems it connected succesfully, but took ages to download, I eventually stopped the transfer as it seems there was no end to it.

Looks like hitachi Kline did the trick with the VAG-COM dongle.

Ive attached the bin file up to the point where I stopped the transfer.

Any ideas on how to speed it up?

I would try the openport cable, it supports faster speeds than K-Line
