Hi there,

Is it possible to edit the behavior of cruise control on my 06 Forester XT? (A8DH100M)

Its far too violent in its corrections. Maybe its fine for stock, but for stage2 tuned every time it corrects at the base of a hill its 100% throttle, nothing, 80%, nothing, 40% nothing, then settles out. Making it surge essentially. Obviously when it reacts its overshoots target as it goes 100% which immediately gives you like 20kph more, then goes zero, then does the same thing again 2 or 3 times until a stable throttle to maintain speed up the hill is found.

I've lived with it for a while now. But this last weekend was the last straw :(

Anyone got any pointers please?
Much appreciated!!

Not sure how 06+ FXT handles it but my 04 FXT and 05 LGT handle it fairly similarly; one tap up increase speed by about 1mph, and increases vacuum by about 5-10inHg. Holding it for a second will give me full boost and increase speed by about 3-5mph.

I've heard of the legacy guys having similar issues, too much power down low causing violent cruise control. The solution is finding ways to reduce power (not the most ideal way) or remap the DBW tables to be smoother.

Raise your requested torque table values and all requested torque lookup axes to the maximum allowed by your rom. This essentially does the same thing and also can give you a boost in throttle response.

Edit: I don't mean every cell to the max.
